Stop Child Hunger with Denny's Diner & No Kid Hungry

Help Denny’s Raise Money For No Kid Hungry

You might remember me telling you about an awesome partnership between Denny’s Diner and No Kid Hungry last year!  Well, it’s that time again, and Denny’s is once again partnering with No Kid Hungry, making it the sixth year in a row Denny’s has proudly partnered with No Kid Hungry.  Denny’s restaurants nationwide are joining the fight to end childhood hunger, and all the proceeds will be going right to helping end childhood hunger, but donating $1 to No Kid Hungry every single time the hashtag #ShareMySlam is used on social AND providing a discount coupon that is redeemable at participating locations upon your next visit.

In addition to their amazing partnership, on September 1st, Denny’s announced their exciting pancake celebration.  So this month, the toughest of Denny’s pancake critics can try out their NEW ‘cakes for free with Denny’s Kids Free Pancakes promotion daily from 4 to 10 p.m. Pancake critics 10 years old and under can order a FREE junior stack of pancakes with a purchase of one entrée.  Pretty cool, right?

The girls and I are planning on heading to Denny’s tomorrow.  If anyone is a pancake critic, it’s my daughter Vayda, lol.  Seriously, she can be tough to please when it comes to pancakes.  It’s even more the reason to swing by Denny’s, snap a picture of your plate, and share it on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #ShareMySlam so Denny’s will donate $1 to No Kids Hungry.  Sure, $1 doesn’t seem like a lot, but it can add up and make a difference.

In the state of New Mexico (where I live, if you didn’t already know that), one in four children struggles with hunger; only 71% of the kids who eat free/reduced-priced school lunches also eat school breakfast; and only 35% of the kids who eat free/ reduced-priced school lunches also eat summer meals.

What do these children do in the summer months?  Well, thanks to No Kids Hungry, children have practical solutions for summer lunches because of No Kid Hungry investing in these practical solutions to ensure the summer months are no longer a time of uncertainty for kids.

I don’t know about the whole state, but here in Carlsbad, NM, the schools all have daily lunches that are free for the kids and something like $1 or $2 for adults.  I don’t’ remember exactly how much it is, but it’s very affordable and goes right back into the program, so it’s totally worth it.

Here in New Mexico, No Kids Hungry works with a variety of awesome organizations, such as:

  • Boys & Girls Club of Las Cruces
  • Collinas del Norte Elementary
  • The Storehouse New Mexico
  • University of New Mexico

To name a few, and that is just New Mexico, we still have 49 other states with children.  Considering that 1 in 5 children will face hunger this year, it’s important that we do what we can to help these wonderful organizations that are dedicating their time to our children, the future of this country.

No Kid Hungry is working to end childhood hunger today by making sure that children start the day with a good, nutritious breakfast and family to learn how to shop and cook on a budget.

This is a sponsored post written by myself for Denny’s.  All opinions are my own, but I really think this is one of the easiest ways we can give back and help those in need.
