We are often told to “have faith” or “trust in the God,” but in my experience, very few people tell you how to do that—especially when you’re coming out of a season of your life when you had neither. Like so many, I’ve been through some serious struggles. The past few years were extremely difficult. I struggled with faith, trust, and even just noticing the good things I still had.
That is why I am so excited to share this Weekly Gratitude & Reflection Calendar that is inspired by The highly anticipated Biblical Event Series, The Faithful: Women of the Bible, starring Minnie Driver, Natacha Karam, and Jeffrey Donovan, premieres Sunday, March 22 (8:00–10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX and unfolds as a three-week television event culminating on Easter Sunday, April 5. Episodes will also stream the next day on Hulu.

I’ll be honest: if someone had shown me this calendar two years ago, I wouldn’t have messed with it. But as my life started changing, I realized these were the mental steps I was taking to to move forward and create change in my life. Just last night, I had a “wowzer” moment where some old feelings started bubbling up. Instead of letting them fester, I put this calendar to the test. It worked—and I hope you are able to find the same value in it.
How to Use the Gratitude & Reflection Calendar
This isn’t about being perfect; it’s about breaking down the “web” of thoughts into small, actionable steps:
- Today I am feeling… Don’t overthink it. It’s okay to feel stressed, doubtful, or sad. Naming these feelings takes away their power over your day. It makes releasing them possible.
- Today I let go of… This is where you physically release what you can’t control. For me, the “why” of my stress is almost always tied to something I can’t change or control.
- Today I trust that… This is the rewire. Remind yourself to trust and keep your faith in God or simply in your own ability to handle a situation. One day at a time, one line at a time.
- Today I am grateful for… End on a win. Acknowledge your progress and the small victories. They matter, and you matter. And, it’s awesome to look back and actually put focus on how far you have actually come.
- The Scripture… A daily reminder to look back and see where faith leads us.

The Inspiration: FOX’s The Faithful: Women of the Bible
I’ll be honest—sometimes we need a mirror to see our own strength. I was blessed to be able to watch the premiere of The Faithful: Women of the Bible early. It was that mirror for me. Seeing women like Sarah and Hagar navigate their own ‘tangled’ moments thousands of years ago helped me really think about the tools I used to teach myself to stop overthinking and learn how to trust in God and keep my faith strong even when we don’t understand.
They didn’t have all the answers, and neither did we. But they chose to move forward and we can choose to do the same. That inspired me to take note of the mental steps I’ve been using to change my own life and put them into this 7-Day Calendar. It’s my way of taking the spirit of their stories, relating it to my own personal life and bringing to life this too that I hope helps guide you through difficult times.
Why It Works
I’m not a professional, but I can tell you why this works for me. Last night, I was feeling anxious. By naming the feeling and consciously letting it go, I realized I was stressed over things outside my control. Why hold on to it if I can’t control it, right? This calendar helped me work through that noise and move past it quickly. I guess for me, it was sort of a roadmap or sort of a rewire to not just be positive about everything but to learn how to work past things rather than just push them away. It also helped me really focus and see where learning to trust and have faith is something great can lead us. Things do work out and life can change if we allow ourselves to be open to the possibility.
I’m not a professional, this is simply a way of thinking that helped me get past some extremely difficult times in my life and I hope you find the same value in them.

FOX’s The Faithful: Women of The Bible
The highly anticipated Biblical Event Series, The Faithful: Women of the Bible, starring Minnie Driver, Natacha Karam, and Jeffrey Donovan, premieres Sunday, March 22 (8:00–10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX and unfolds as a three-week television event culminating on Easter Sunday, April 5. Episodes will also stream the next day on Hulu.
Filmed on location in Rome and Matera, Italy, this landmark drama thoughtfully brings to life stories from the Book of Genesis through the women whose lives were woven into God’s unfolding plan.
Through moments of waiting, trust, brokenness, forgiveness, and redemption, the series explores the deeply human experiences behind Scripture and invites viewers to see familiar passages with renewed understanding and compassion.

Each episode follows the journeys of five women of faith:
- Sarah (Minnie Driver) — learning to trust God’s promises even when hope feels impossible
- Hagar (Natacha Karam) — discovering that God sees and cares for the forgotten
- Rebekah (Alexa Davalos) — wrestling with family, purpose, and the consequences of choice
- Leah (Millie Brady) and Rachel (Blu Hunt) — sisters navigating love, identity, and God’s blessing
Through their struggles and perseverance, we are reminded that God works through imperfect people to accomplish a story far greater than any one life — a story that ultimately points forward to hope.
Produced by FOX Entertainment Studios and distributed worldwide by FOX Entertainment Global, the series is executive produced by Carol Mendelsohn (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Julie Weitz (Game of Silence), and Rene Echevarria (Carnival Row, The 4400), who also serves as showrunner.
Consider watching together — with family, friends, or a small group — and use the stories as a starting point for conversations about faith, trust, and God’s faithfulness across generations.
I had the honor of watching the first episode, give it two thumbs up and cannot wait to watch all of them.
