American Diabetes Association funds research to help prevent, cure and manage diabetes. They currently deliver services to communities that are at high risk of prediabetes as well as diabetes and contribute to providing credible education and information to people who have been recently diagnosed with diabetes. They help give a voice to the individuals who are denied their rights because of diabetes.
Did you know the American Diabetes Association began their Gift of Hope program back in 1971 with several parents with children who had diabetes and wanted to do something to help fight the disease in the Minneapolis area? They started selling greeting cards during the holiday season to help raise money to support their mission. They have since raised over 26 million dollars with the Gift of Hope program.
There is tons of great Christmas gift ideas that give back in the Gift of Hope catalog and here are just a few of my favorite.
