Why You’ll Love These Pretzel Rods

This project is very close to my heart. My daughter was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, and while it has been a difficult road, her GI doctor’s office has been outstanding. On a scale of 1 to 10, they are a 25! I really want to do something to show them how much we appreciate everything they do.

Since I will be gifting to an entire office, I needed something budget-friendly but special. These chocolate-covered pretzel rods checked all the boxes:

  • Homemade: They are homemade with love to show them how much we appreciate everything they do.
  • Fun & Festive: They look professional but are simple to make.
  • No Baking Required: Perfect for a stress-free kitchen and easy cleanup.
  • Budget-Friendly: You only need a few ingredients, making them not only an affordable option but a great choice for large batches as well.

Ingredients You’ll Need

You only need a few ingredients to create these easy no-bake chocolate covered pretzel rods.

  • Pretzel Rods (one standard bag)
  • Pink Candy Wafers
  • White Candy Wafers
  • Valentine’s Sprinkles

How to Make Valentine’s Day Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods:

  • Melt the Chocolate: Using a melting pot or a microwave-safe bowl, melt the candy wafers according to the package instructions.

  • Dip the Rods: Dip each pretzel rod into the melted chocolate, leaving a small portion of the rod undipped at the bottom. This makes them much easier to hold!
  • Add Sprinkles: If you’re using sprinkles, add them while the chocolate is still wet so they stick properly.
  • Set: Lay the covered pretzels on wax paper or aluminum foil and allow them to dry completely.
  • The Finishing Drizzle: Once dry, use a piping bag to drizzle a contrasting color of chocolate in a “zig-zag” motion across the rods.
Pro Tip: I highly suggest using an actual piping bag. I’ve tried plastic sandwich bags, and they just don’t work the same!

  • Dry & Enjoy: Allow the drizzle to set completely.

Use this idea to get your creative juices flowing; there are so many different directions you could go with these, such as

  • Make cute love bug pretzels, similar to our recent Oreo love bug recipe.
  • Try different color candy melts, such as red, or choose a brighter color, pink.
  • Choose whatever sprinkles fit your vibe.
  • Don’t forget the packaging can also add a fun, festive twist on things too.
