It’s been years since I have been able to travel like I used to, but I always enjoyed checking out all the handcrafted items I would run into along the way. Handcrafted items are awesome because someone put their time into creating something with their own hands, they put love into each tiny detail.

Celebrating Women by Empowering Them with Coca-Cola 5by20 Initiative

Did you know that about 90% of women are more likely to reinvest their income in food, healthcare, and education for their families and children? Women are rising in their communities, and the communities grow to new heights of prosperity and health. According to studies, there is a direct correlation between women’s empowerment and FDP growth, environmental sustainability, business growth, improved health, and more.

Coca-Cola’s 5by20 Initiative

Have you heard about Coca-Cola’s 5by20 initiative?  It was created to help empower female entrepreneurs all over the world by providing them with the tools and training needed to grow their income and their business.  It’s an excellent program, especially when you consider the fact that a majority of the females who are in the program live in developing nations and use resourcefulness and creativity to turn Coca-Cola packaging into excellent décor items and accessories to help elevate themselves, their families, and their communities.

March is Women’s Month, and I’m excited to celebrate it by supporting women one purchase at a time.  I actually have some pretty impressive items I was sent pretty neat items for Coca-Cola’s 5by20 Initiative, which was launched in 2010 with a goal of empowering 5 million women entrepreneurs by the year 2020 in over 60 countries all over the world.  Sounds pretty awesome, right?  I think so too, Did you know that by the end of the year 2015, about 1.2 million women were impacted in total through the initiative.

The handcrafted items I received from Coca-Cola are super awesome! I had no idea you could turn an old Coca-Cola can into a rose and bottle caps into a makeup bag; it’s all just too cool.  I have to applaud these wonderful women for their awesome upcycles!
