Hugs to Marshall for allowing me to be part of this amazing experience, and thank you, Disney, for paying for my travel! To be honest, I am still in shock from my recent Jaimie Alexander interview.
We all know Zachary Levi; he’s done some pretty impressive roles—Chuck, Flynn Ryder from Disney’s Tangles—and he’s recently left his role as a price behind to step into the shoes of an Asgardian warrior who will fight to protect his fellow Asgardians! FYI, not only is Zachary Levi easy on the eyes, he’s super fun and full of laughs.
Okay, so I’m going to be honest… I have always loved Zachary Levi, and I was super surprised to find him in Thor: The Dark World. I mean, it just didn’t seem like his cup of tea, but I was totally wrong. I should have known better, Zachary Levi is a very talented actor, and while we were in LA, I was blessed with the opportunity to interview Zachary Levi about his role in Thor: The Dark World, and I learned a few things about him.
10 Things I Learned About Handsome Prince Gone Warrior Levi Zachary!
1) Zachary Levi wasn’t so nervous about his role in The Dark World or being a part of something as huge and amazing as Marvel, but more the thought of ill-will for the rest of the cast. He didn’t want to feel like the guy who was coming and taking someone else’s job away. For those of you who didn’t know, Josh Dallas played Fandral in the first Thor. Someone asked Zachary if he was envious about taking the role and being part of such a huge franchise. He wasn’t so nervous about the role or being part of such a huge franchise, but more about having any ill-will from the rest of the cast, knowing that he just stepped into the role and wasn’t part of the first film.
Being a part of the Marvel Universe is nothing to be nervous about. I think you should celebrate that. You get to be a part of this incredible comic Thor:book lineage and family, and universe they have built, which is incredible.
2) Come to find out Zachary was supposed to play Fandral in the first Thor too! I had no idea, but I found out that his role in Chuck actually didn’t allow him to be part of the first film. During our interview, Zachary said, “One of the first days on the set, Tom gave me a big hug and said, Welcome, glad you were able to come and do this.”
I felt the love from everybody, and so no, I wasn’t nervous beyond that!
Zachary does feel like he has had the opportunity to play his fair share of characters, and I think I would have to agree. Such a talented man, and he’s mega funny, super handsome, and, omg, did I say handsome?
4) I learned the word “Bris-Gardian.” Zachary said the word “Bris-Gardian”!!! I think that’s the funniest things I learned on the whole trip… Bris Gadian. Why would he say such a word? In Thor: The Dark World, they speak with British accents but are Asgardean. So there you have it, from the words of Zachary Levi, “Bris-Gardian.”
Zachary was absolutely a fan of Marvel comics before all this, but the mutants were his favorite.
I was really big on the whole mutant category, like X-Men, X-Factor, Spider-Man, Iron Man, to an extent Captain American.
6) Performing the Tangled song at the Oscars was the most nerve-racking experience of his life. Again, from the mouth of the one and only Zachary Levi,
“I’m surprised I didn’t wet myself at any point during that. It was a dream come true, but a dream that I didn’t even realize I had until it was happening.”
“I’m like, oh my god, I don’t know, I can’t do this, I can’t do this, I’m-I’m-I’m looking for a stage manager, like, can I get a couple more minutes, is that alright? You can’t because it’s live, and it’s happening. You just go into auto pilot and kind of blackout a little bit. All I was saying was Look at Mandy, look at Mandy, look at Mandy. I’m looking at Mandy, looking at Mandy, and then we turn on this look. just look into the lights; they’re shining down. You cannot see anybody because it’s so bright, and you just finish it and try to finish strong.”
I felt like, He we got through it. I look over and if you look at the footage, I look over at her wink and smile like, hey we did it, and we made it through it. I didn’t feel great about it, or even good until later when I watched it.
7) His fans mean a lot to him. This is kind of outside the interview, but after the Red Carpet Premier for Thor: The Dark World, Zachary Levi made it a point to go and spend a nice amount of time with the leftover fans chanting his name. He took pictures and all that jazz—everything he had already spent so much time on before the premier. I just really think that says a lot about him: he releases that he is what he is because of his fans, and he’s willing to show them how much he appreciates it. That’s why I’m an even bigger Zachary Levi fan!!
Zachary Zachary wanted to entertain people since he was a little kid. He wanted to entertain and be on film, TV, and theater. He’s also very grateful for his career; he realizes he has been able to do things that many people dream about.
Thor:Since I was a little kid, all I wanted to do was entertain people and do film, television, and theater at the highest level. God continues to go, here you go, here you go, and here you go. And I know that doesn’t happen for most people in the world, so I don’t take that lightly.
9) He enjoyed hearing that people didn’t realize he was in Thor: The Dark World until they watched the credits at the end of the movie. Zachary had some people tweet him internationally from places the movie had already released; some people tweeted, letting him know they didn’t realize it was him until the credits. Zachary said, “And to me, that’s the greatest thing I could ever hear.”
I think any actor hopes that your performance, your look, and whatever you do are so transcendent that people don’t know that it’s you; they’re just lost in whatever the character is until the end.
10) He really hopes to see more of the role as Fandral, and honestly, so do I. He did an amazing job, and he’s one pretty cool dude!
How can you not love this guy? Everything about him is very charismatic, handsome, smart, funny, and talented! If anyone has it going on, its Zachary Levi!
Yeah, so I was a little upset that I didn’t get to stand next to him, but hey, I got to meet him, right? I did get to stand by Jaimie Alexander in her interview, at least!

Twice, I was lucky to see Zac in First Date The Musical and meet him. He is exactly what I expected — funny, sincere and handsome. He really does adore his fans — he blessed me both times. Zac was brilliant in the musical – love his singing! If you can,, go see First Date (by January 5th) in NYC and meet him afterwards. He won’t leave until everyone gets a photo with him!
