The Ronald McDonald House, holds a special place in the hearts of many.  It’s an amazing organization that does so much good for families when they are in need going through some of the hardest times in their lives.

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Review Wire Media for Blue Harbor Entertainment. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When my nephew was born he was born with a heart condition.  My brother and sister-n-law spent months in Houston at the children’s hospital. Without the Ronald McDonald house I don’t know what they would have done. The Ronald McDonald house is such an amazing organization that is there to help families during difficult times.

Have you ever put much thought into how the Ronald McDonald house was founded?  I mean, what’s the story, I hadn’t until watching Audrey’s Children.  I mean, obviously I knew McDonalds had something to do with it due to the name and of course Ronald McDonald himself, but I had never heard of Audrey Evens, until watching the movie.  WOW, what an amazing woman! What an amazing story, inspiring, eye opening, a tear jerker, so many feelings but it’s an awesome film and she was simply an amazing women.

Audrey’s Children, takes you back to before the Ronald McDonald house was founded. When Dr. Audrey Even started her work only 10 percent of children diagnosed with cancer survived, today nearly 80 percent survive. In Audrey’s career as a pediatric oncologist at the Chief of Oncology of a world-renowned Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia she battled sexism, medical conventions, as well as her peers.

Dr. Audrey Event’s also developed the first Neuroblastoma Staging System, as well as co-founded the first Ronald McDonald House for families of patients. Ultimately, she has impacted the lives of millions of children and their families from all over the world.  The work she started is still saving lives today.
