This is a sponsored post written by myself on behalf of Hallmark Movies & Mysteries for the premiere of My Christmas Guide. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
I know it’s early but Christmas will be here before. There’s no better way to start getting in the Christmas spirit than with a good Christmas movie, some snacks, a warm blanket, some cocoa, and good company to cuddle up with every Thursday for an original holiday movie from Hallmark Movies and Mysteries. This Thursday, November 2nd, at 8PM/7PM CST, be sure to tune in for the premiere of My Christmas Guide. Plus, if you are able, we would love it if you’d join us on Twitter with the #MyChristmasGuide hashtag and we can all watch together.
My Christmas Guide
In My Christmas Guide, Trevor (Ben Mehl), a college professor and single father to Annie (Ava Weiss), has recently lost his sight and is badly shaken and barely hanging on. To make things worse, there is a new construction project at his college that poses everyday dangers for him and the head of his department is worried for his safety, suggesting he take some time off until the project is complete. Concerned for her father, Annie talks him into visiting a facility that trains seeing-eye dogs. Which is where they will meet Peyton (Amber Marshall), who introduces them to the perfect seeing-eye dog named Max. As Peyton trains Trevor with Max, the two begin to bond, and Trevor begins to regain his old self-confidence, but his faith and trust are put to the test when he has to step out of his comfort zone and let go of everything he’s familiar with.
Seriously, doesn’t it sound like everything you’d expect from an original Hallmark Movies and Mysteries Christmas movie, and then some.
It seems like everyone starts getting into the holiday spirit with a movie, even the kids I can’t count how many amazing memories I have of watching Christmas movies with my kids. Snuggled up with hot cocoa, watching a heartwarming Christmas movie is such a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
I was racking my brain, trying to pick out the most awesome Christmas memory ever. Seriously, it’s like mission impossible because I’ve got a gazillion fantastic memories of Christmas. But let me tell you, some of the absolute best ones are from when my kids were young and still believed in Santa Claus. Oh man, our house was bursting with pure magic! It’s impossible to put into words just how incredible it felt. Thanks to Santa, I’ve got a treasure trove of mind-blowing memories that will last a lifetime.
Oh, and the year Santa got my son the keyboard he so badly wanted, which included the microphone we specifically asked him not to include, lol. Oh, he loved that darn microphone more than the keyboard and he would turn the volume all the way up and sing for hours and hours.
One year we went to visit my mom and dad, and boy oh boy, let’s just say we left with my oldest daughter believing Santa came a day early in the mountains. Yes, of course she told everyone, even her teacher, who was beside herself to learn Santa came a day early in the mountains. Another year the kids and I decided to really spice things up and surprise Santa with mini homemade cherry pies. Well, we almost burned the whole house down making those cherry pies. Thankfully, one very crispy cherry pie did make it to Santa. I’m sure he loved it.
Every year, it never failed that the kids would be so excited for Santa that they would stay up late. Well, that and they were trying to see if they could sneak a peak of the jolly guy himself, but I made sure to wake up extra early and bang around until I woke one of them up. I loved seeing the looks on their faces when they saw what Santa left for them. My two youngest used to wear twelve tubes of Chapstick on Christmas Day for years, lol. Seriously, it’s clear but after 821 coats, you can definitely tell they are wearing it and you know, they were definitely eating it too.
Santa seriously brought so much magic into our homes. So I don’t know; if you ask me, Santa is real. Physically, he might not be real, but the magic that comes from believing in Santa is definitely real. I know my heart is filled with so many feelings and memories I will carry with me for a lifetime, thanks to Santa. Huge thanks to the jolly old guy for that and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries for all their amazing Christmas movies.
