It’s the season for giving, which is one of the reasons I love this time of year so much! I just think it’s amazing all the good things people do to help one another out… Just amazing, and to all those who do what they can whether it’s buying canned good for your kids to take to school, giving money to a good cause, or simply sending prayers to someone who’s in need what you’re doing is amazing, and I can guarantee it’s appreciated more than you know.
It’s sad to think there is kids out there who might not get a gift from their parents, or from Santa, and it’s not because they have horrible parents. Life happens, and sometimes not in our favor. We do what we can with what we have, and sometimes it’s just not enough! It’s horrible but there are a lot of veterans, and active duty military members who need support. I fully support our military and veterans, and I am very happy to share this post with you.
I just learned that Bronx Zoo, New York Aquarium, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, and Queens Zoo are doing what they can to spread the love this holiday season! From November 16, 2013 until December 31, 2013 you can stop by and donate any unwrapped toys to help support local families who are in need!
All five parks will be accepting new, unwrapped toys for donation to help support local families in need. The Bronx Zoo will be participating in the Bronx Borough President’s annual toy drive in support of families of local veterans and active duty military members. Central Park Zoo will join the fun and donate to families of local veterans and active duty military members as well. In addition, The New York Aquarium, Prospect Park Zoo, and Queens Zoo will be collecting toys to donate to some of the communities hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy. For every new toy donated you can receive one free general admission ticket.* Toys can be dropped off at the gate; admission is not required. Your donation can make all the difference.
*Free ticket to the Bronx Zoo when donating at the Bronx Zoo, Queens Zoo, or Central Park Zoo. Free ticket to the New York Aquarium when donating at the New York Aquarium or the Prospect Park Zoo.
If you are able be sure and stop by one of these locations and drop off your donation. To find out more, visit BronxZoo.com/ToyDrive

It is very important to remember the people including kids who can not celebrate the holidays the way they would like. I always try to do something, whether donating cans or toys. I didn;’t know about the New York parks having sites for donations.
It’s such a small thing to give a toy. But, if everyone adds one toy, it’ll add up to make some children really happy Christmas morning.
