If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter, you probably already know we recently were invited to sail the ocean blue with Micky and Minnie on an amazing Disney Cruise. This was my first cruise ever, but definable not my last. My husband and I are already planning on a Disney Cruise to Alaska! OMG, I cannot tell you how much I want to go. It’s going to be a reward to myself for dropping all this darn weight! I tell you gaining the weight sure was not hard, a little health issues and BAM, but on the plus side, I am all about rewarding myself for hard work, and what better than a Disney Cruise! We were provided two plane tickets, and two tickets aboard the majestic Disney Dream.
Most everything is included with cruise, we paid for drinks, and a t-shirt for the kids – everything else was included. If you are hungry, EAT! You want to do something fun, DO IT! I can honestly say I had no idea how affordable going on a Disney Cruise is.
Things To Do On A Disney Cruise Aboard The Disney Dream
If you are thinking about sailing the ocean blue on a Disney Cruise, I cannot recommend the Disney Dream enough! You’ll have so much fun, there are so many things to do, here are a few of my favorite! Oh, and don’t forget there is so much going on once you reach Disney’s private island too, but we will be posting about that later, so be on the lookout.
Seriously, it’s just amazing to see all the detail put into the ship! The Disney Magic is such a beautiful ship, with so much detail. You have to make time to see the ship, and absorb everything!
About The Disney Dream
The Disney Dream is the ship I was so lucky to be aboard. It’s the majestic third ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet which includes 14 decks, 1,115 feet in length, and 125 feet wide. The stunning 130,000 ton ship includes 1,250 staterooms, and can comfortably acuminate 4,000 passengers, and don’t forget about the 1,458 crew members who make your cruise so delightful. The crew is amazing, and sets it apart from anything I have ever done. They are amazing, helpful, nice, and there to tend to your every need, and even joke a little. If I had to choose one thing I enjoyed most about the cruise it would without a doubt be the crew members, they make the experience magical!
Dinning
We enjoyed mouth-watering meals in one of the magically themed restaurants aboard the ship.
What restaurants will you find on the ship? Oh, there are so many here are a few that I remember, but don’t be made if I miss a few.
- Enchanted Garden – You will love how this restaurant transforms from day-to-night!
- Cabanas – indoor/outdoor dining at it’s best.
- Palo – Adult Exclusive, and it’s the PERFECT romantic setting if you are traveling with your partner.
- Remy – Adult Exclusive, which services French-inspired cuisine.
- Flo’s Café – Grab something quick and easy, but still very yummy.
- Preludes – Grab a snack during one of the lives shows.
- Frozone Treats – We all want something cold and sweet from time to time! Be sure to check out Frozone Treats.

It’s hard to stay dry on the ship, because there are so many awesome pools for adults, children, and everyone in between. Oh, and who can forget the AquaDuck.
765-food long water coaster that for the most part takes you all around the ship in a clear forward funnel.
It’s AWESOME, and a great way to see the sights!
Donald’s Pool
This pool is 5 feet deep, and has an awesome picture of Donald Duck on the bottom.
Mickey’s Pool

Things to do for kids
While my husband and I had a great time on the cruise, the next one will be with our children. I don’t think we would have seen much of them, but there are so many activities that they would have loved. Check out a few of the fun activities for kids on a the Disney Dream.
Small World Nursery
For children ages 3 months to 3 years.
Disney’s Oceaneer Club
Dress up, play computer games, and tons of other activities.
Edge

Vibe
Teens only please! I know Catie would have loved this trendy place for teen.
Arr-cade
Looking for a fun place for the kids to unwind and play some of the newest video games. They will love the Arr-cade, Shawn wanted to stay.
Deck parties (we loved Pirate night) It was seriously magical!
The fireworks bursting above us, the reflection on the water, singing, dancing. Everything was fun and upbeat, you cannot help but move. Even my husband was dancing!
Even more amazing when you are there to see it.
Watch the sunrise
WOW, my husband and I went up for this and it’s the most amazing thing I have ever seen. It was worth waking up early. Sadly it was a little too early for me on vacation and I forgot a camera. If you go on a cruise be sure to wake up early, you can go back to bed, it’s worth it.
Visit the front of the ship at night
There’s something about the fresh ocean breeze, the water, and those amazing stars! If you’re lucky you might see a thunderstorm in the distance, which only makes things that much more magical.
Visit the back of the boat for put-put, and an amazing view.
Sitting on your balcony is amazing. Listening to the water, watching the water, and the amazing air. There is nothing like it, especially at night. Every single night we were on the ship, I would step out on the balcony.
Disney Characters
You’ll see them, keep your eyes open, and pay attention to you schedule! I cannot wait to take my girls to meet the Disney princesses!
Look forward to going back to your room
I am not kidding! We came back to new origami all the time, it was so much fun! I cannot tell you how amazing the crew members are, they are what helps bring so much magic to a Disney Cruise! Thank you for everything you do!
Hang out in your room
I know you probably don’t want to be in your room too much, but it is nice to lay on the bed and feel the water moving under the ship.
Yes, you have your very own deck. Just the color of the water is breathtaking.
Currents
This was one of our favorite places to enjoy a drink. It was a nice way to relax, enjoy time with my husband, and sip on a refreshing cocktail at the Currents.
District Lounge
Guest of all ages can enjoy refreshing beverages, but at night it’s adults only.
Evolution
Awesome butterfly themed area with different kinds of music – something for everyone. Guest of all ages can enjoy different styles of music, games, activates, and at night it’s fun and adults only.

Waves
I loved this, just a great cozy place to relax.
Be sure to check out the fireworks!
Window Shop or Shop:)
Oh, and you’ll have to see the shops. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s fun to window shop. You’ll find great shops, like:
- Sea Treasures
- White Caps
- Vista Gallery
If you get bored, which I doubt you will, but we had fun roaming the halls. It’s fun to see just how darn big the ship is, WOW!
If you go on the same cruise we were so lucky to go on be sure to get off the ship, and have something planned for your day stop at the islands. This is one thing I wish I would have planned better! My husband and I went into this part of the trip blind, and didn’t have anything planned. Highly recommend having something planned, becasue there is so much to do. However, we just had fun visiting the shops, and seeing the sights. It’s totally up to you.
Just have fun, it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you enjoy your time, and who you are with on your Disney Cruise! I did miss having the kids, and totally wished their were there, but I had time to reconnect with my husband. It was magical in so many ways. Thank you Disney Cruise Line you have new cruisers right here!
NOW, this is the most amazing part of the trip! There is so much to do, be sure to get off the boat early and experience as much of the trip as you can, because it’s radical! Again, I will be posting more about this shortly!
If I could do one thing differently, before I left for my Disney Cruise:
If I could go back and do one thing differently, I would have planned better. We had never been on a cruise, and we planned, but I would have liked to plan exactly what we were going to do when. I think by doing this we would have been able to experience more. I know you think being on a ship for 3 days is enough, but if you want to experience everything a Disney Cruise has to offer, you’re probably going to need to plan, and I am going to be you’ll have more to experience the next round.
I could go on and on, there is so much to do on the ship its unreal, and the best part is almost everything is included when you purchase your tickets. I was by far most surprised by how much came with the cruise. I guess I always assumed you ticket only got you on the ship, man I was wrong.
Don’t think this is all, there is tons to do on a Disney Cruise not just for you, but the family.
Booking a vacation is probably more costly than you think – $480 per person for three-night cruises, and $640 per person for four-night cruises, based on double occupancy. You can learn more about this fabulous cruise and all the other Disney Cruises by visiting DisneyCruise.com, or calling 1/888-325-2500.
