“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Clearasil. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”

Have you had to help teens with breakouts yet?  Maybe you’re lucky and haven’t experienced a teens with breakouts, or maybe you’re like me and the only thing your teen freaks out about is breakouts, LOL.  You think I’m kidding, but I’m not.  Catie is a great kid, no drama included, well unless she’s suffering from a breakout, and in that case it’s the end of the world.

Beating breakouts isn’t easy, especially for your teen.  Gosh, you remember the day of teen breakouts don’t you?  I know I do, and I remember my mom teaching me ways to deal with teen breakouts just like I’m doing with my daughter.  Lucky for our kids we know more about teen acne and are better able to help them with simple changes to their daily routine.

10 Tips To Help Teens With Breakouts

Here are a few things you can do to help teens with breakouts, or at least try anyway.  You might end up like me and just buying Clearasil because following these tips seem to be too much for my daughter, lol.  Not really, but really.  She follows most of them, but there are a few that she isn’t too good at yet.  Maybe by the time she’s 30 she will be ready to take a few extra steps to help her skin.

  • Sleep – It’s hard for a teen to understand the importance of sleep, but as parents we need to make sure they understand.  It’s not only going to help their skin, but their mind to be sharper in school.  You might want to leave out the part about school when you tell them, and only tell them about their skin, lol.  If you don’t sleep enough you tend to get stressed easier, which doesn’t help much with acne in teens or adults.
  • Water – I’m always reminding my teen to drink more water.  Water is so good for the body and does so many wonderful things.  It’s no surprise that it’s so good for skin and help keep the acne away.
  • Diet – Yes, I know try getting a teen to eat great.  It’s easier said than done.  I know my daughter eats well when she is home, but when she’s at school and friends house, I’m going to bet she eats junk.  All you can do is explain the importance of eating a healthy diet.  I read somewhere one time that the more veggies, whole grains and beans you eat the less acne you’re likely to have.  Of course, the more junk you eat, the more likely you are to experience a breakout, whether teen or adult.
  • Exercise – Another thing that can be difficult to get your teen to do is get up, and workout, unless they’re involved in sports all year long.  I get my daughter to go on walks with me three times a week, any more than that is pushing it LOL.  One time she didn’t want to go and tried telling me I thought she was fat. She was only trying to get out of going for a walk.  Of course, I called her out, and she ended up walking with me.  Mom wins again!
  • Don’t overdo it with the products – Don’t reach for 12 different products, choose a product like Clearasil and stick with it.  There is no magic product that takes it away with one use.  If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Foundation – Don’t cover your breakouts with foundation.  Covering up your breakouts with, foundation can clog your pore, which can make things worse.  According to Clearasil.us, “there is a product called “non-comedogenic that will not block your pores.”
  • Don’t poke – My daughter loves to pop her pimples, and she’s been focusing on keeping her fingers away from them.  When you pop or pick at them, you can cause scares or dark spots on your skin.
  • Sun – Yes, less sun.  Many medications for acne can make your more likely to get a sunburn, which means less sun can be beneficial.  Plus, too much sun increases your risk for cancer and can make one wrinkle faster.
  • Stop stressing – It happens; your child is not the only teen in school who experiences breakouts.  Having a pimple doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world.  I know it can feel like it, but there are some excellent products out there that can help you minimize you and your teens breakouts like Clearasil.
  • Keep skin clean – Be sure and wash your face daily, and if you wear foundation be sure you remove all of it each nights with Daily Clear® Daily Facial Scrub, which works to remove all that nasty dirt, bacteria and oil.  This is Catie’s favorite product to wash her face with, and the ones she feels works best with her skin.  She’s like her mom and has an oily skin, BLAH!

Helping teens with breakouts isn’t an easy job because they’re often not willing to do everything it takes to keep their skin happy and healthy.  My daughter is awesome, listens well, doesn’t lie, and I guess it’s good that she doesn’t lie about following a few tips to helping keep her skin happy and healthy.  I mean, she will straight tell me she can’t do all of the things needed to avoid breakouts.  Lucky for her there are great products like Clearasil, because I don’t think she is ready to fully commit to exercise if hanging with friends isn’t included.  Okay, and maybe her chores around the house, lol.  Darn teens, can’t live with them and I definitely can’t live with teens with breakouts so we buy Clearasil.

I have used Clearasil products for years and always been happy with the results they provided me, even in my younger years.  Now that my daughter is a teen I buy Clearasil for her to use, and it works great.  Don’t get me wrong she still gets an occasional pimple, but her skin has improved since she started using Clearasil Daily Clear® Daily Facial Scrub.

Clearasil Ultra® Rapid Action Daily Gel Wash

Since Catie is familiar with Daily Clear® Daily Facial Scrub and it’s her favorite Clearasil product she decided to try Clearasil Ultra® Rapid Action Daily Gel Wash for a few weeks.  She’s tried it before because I always have some in my bathroom, because I like the way it gets rid of all the dirt and oils so quickly.

Daily Clear® Daily Facial Scrub

Catie will not go without the Daily Clear® Daily Facial Scrub.  We received it to try for two weeks, but going into it we both knew it was one of our favorite products.  It gently washes away dirt, bacteria, and oil, is dermatologist tested, and helps keep skin clear of breakouts.  Catie started using Daily Clear® Daily Facial Scrub a while back, and it’s worked great with her skin.  When you find something that works, and helps prevent fewer breakouts why would you chance it?  Which is precisely why this is her face scrub of choice for everyday use.

Clearasil Ultra® Rapid Action Daily Gel Wash

Clearasil Ultra® Rapid Action Daily Gel Wash

Catie has used this a few times, and it’s something I like to keep around.  Clearasil Ultra® Rapid Action Daily Gel Wash is dermatologist tested and works to provide you with clearer skin in as little as 12 hours.  It does work great in providing you with clearer skin, because it’s scientifically formulated with maximum strength acne medication to start working fast and open up those blocked pores.  I have oily skin, and this is one of my favorite Clearasil products to be honest.  It helps get rid of any yucky oils I have on my face, and really does help my skin look and feel better.

After it was said and done, Catie likes both of the products, but for daily use she went back to the Daily Clear Daily facial Scrub because it worked better on her young oily skin.  I asked her why she preferred the Daily Clear Daily Facial Scrub to the Ultra Rapid Action Daily Gel Wash and she said because her skin felt better after daily use with the Daily Clear® Daily Facial Scrub. I’m the complete opposite, while I like the Daily Clear® Daily Facial Scrub I prefer the Clearasil Ultra® Rapid Action Daily Gel Wash because my skin feel cleaner.

Regardless we both agreed both products work great, but we have different skin that needs different hings.  That’s why Clearasil makes so many different products – they want to make sure there is something for every skin type.  If you’re looking for something to help with your skin or help with your teens breakouts be sure to give Clearasil a try.  Clearasil is a brand both my daughter and I have used and trusted for years and we both recommend the Clearasil brand.  If you haven’t used Clearasil and want to learn more you can always swing by their website at Clearasil.us.
