jennsblahblahblog sponsored postBeing a parent is stressful enough without having to worry about purchasing the best baby monitor for your little one.  Naturally, parents want to be able to check on their sleeping baby, watch them when they play, keep up with the older kids homework, chores, know who is getting into what, and still have time for those mommy moments.  HA, being mom is hard work, I cannot tell you how many time I have wished I could have another set of arms, or even better a clone to help me be everywhere, which is why I found othere uses for a video baby monitor in my home.

Most of you know I have 5 children in my home, without a doubt they are all busy, which means I am always being pulled in different directions.  It makes keeping track of what everyone is doing almost impossible, which is why I started using our baby video monitors for different things around the house  to make my job of being everywhere easier.

Ten Other Uses For A Video Baby Monitor

Without a doubt you want a video baby monitor for your little one, but have you ever thought about all the other things you can use a video baby monitor for?  I can think of plenty of different things I have used our video monitors for, and here are ten other uses for a video baby monitor.

Playtime

Video baby monitors do a great job keeping an eye on our little one for us while they sleep, but they are also great for playtime too.  When the other kids are in school, Mattie often wants to play in her room while I cook or do dishes.  Welp, on with the baby monitor!  It allows me to monitor my children while they play in their room so I can get things done around the house.

Clean-up time

This is for my older children, who know how to clean their room on their own.  If you have older children, you probably know getting them to clean their room can be difficult, especially if they know you are busy doing dishes, or trying to catch up on work.  HA, put a baby monitor with talk-back intercom in their room, and when they stop cleaning, start to play, or try to sneak of into another room tell them to get back in their room and get to cleaning.  The first time I did this with Vayda I think she thought mom somehow developed super powers, lol.

Keep kids out of the kitchen

I still to third day have a baby monitor in my kitchen to keep the kids from grabbing whatever they want when I am not looking.  With the awesome pan, tilt, and zoom features I am able to move around the entire kitchen and see who is doing what when they are in there.  Oh, and staying up late to watch movies doesn’t work either, because the Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor VM333 has automatic night vision, which is two infrared LEDs and low-lux camera which automatically detect dim lighting, and provide parents with a clear video even in dark room.

Vtech Video MonitorBecause watching is awesome

There is nothing I love more than sitting back and watching my children learn new things, and toddlers are like sponges!  They learn new things almost daily, and mine always seems to do it while they are in another room, or playing with their siblings.  I still sit back and watch my younger children play on the video monitor, because I love watching their little minds work.  They come up with some creative solutions to their problems, fun games, and there is nothing better than watching them dance when they are alone!  Man, they can get down and with the awesome pan, tilt, and zoom I never miss a move!

Knowing the temperature in the room

I live in southern New Mexico; it’s HOT in the summer and COLD in the winter.  We have central heating and cooling, but not every room is the same temperature.  When the sun sets on the back of our home, it gets hot!  With the Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor it’s easy to tell the temperature in the room.  The monitor gives me piece of mind in knowing my little one is not to warm or cold.  This is also something that is important for us to know about my handicap son’s room.

Nanny cam

It always makes me feel better if someone is watching the kids, and they know we have a monitor in the living room, as well as the baby room.  I don’t allow anyone to watch my children that I don’t know, but you just never know.  When sitters see the “nanny cam” they are going to be sure and take extra good care of your children, because let’s face it, they do not know if you are peaking in on them.  It just makes me feel better, and they do not have to know what the video monitor is capable of.

Night Light

This is more for mom and dad when they have to get up in the middle of the night, but there have been several times I have reached over and grabbed my parent unit and used it as a light to make it to the rest room, or into one of the kids rooms.  It beats turning on lights and waking anyone up.

Older kids need supervision too

I love having a VTech monitor in my kitchen.  It’s where the older kids do their homework.  I cannot tell you how many times I have taken cell phones away, or use the handy Talk-Back Intercom to remind the kids that I am watching them so they need to be sure they are getting their homework or chores  done.

Handicap

Most of you know my son is handicap, and cannot do much of anything for himself.  He will have his own room in the next few days, and I wouldn’t allow him to be on the other side of the house, in his own room without a great video monitor like the Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor because too many things can happen while we are not in the room.  Not only that, my son is older, and LOVES video games.  Since he isn’t able to do much, I allow him to play the Wii more than the other children, because it’s the only way to get him to move his arms, and work hard at something on his own.  I am not even joking, he will work so hard if the Wii or his VTech tablet is involved, and it’s actually helped him accomplish things we never though he would be capable of.

Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video MonitorAnyway, I already know he wants to hang out in his room, on his huge beanbag and play video games in his own room.  He tells me every single morning that his dad needs to hurry up with his room for this reason.  I would not be able to let him do these things without a video monitor like the Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor VM333.

Elderly

You can also use a video monitor to help you care for the elderly in many of the same ways.  It just feels better knowing you can watch your loved ones, while you are doing housework, working on a blog post, or sleeping.

Needless to say, I am loving the Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor VM333.  Since I like this VTech video monitor, here are a few of the many reasons we love our new Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor.

Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video MonitorReasons We Love The VTech Safe&Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor VM333

Viewing options – In my opinion, the more viewing options the better.  The Safe & Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor from V-Tech allows parents to choose between:

  • Single view – One camera.
  • Split view – Cycles through cameras on single view before changing to the next camera.
  • Patrol mode – A single view that transitions to a different camera every 7 seconds to help keep an eye on as many as four rooms at once.

Sound Indicator – Safe & Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor from V-Tech has a 5 level sound indicator so that parents can control the level of sound coming from babies room.  You can even mute the noise level and visually monitor babies room.

Screen Sizes – Safe & Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor has an awesome screen with high-resolution, 2.8-inc color LCD so you never miss anything!

Talk-Back Intercom – Our little ones are big enough to talk back to us, but even when your baby is little, there are times when they need to hear the sound of your voice to feel comfortable.

Vibrating Sound-Alert on the Parent Unit – I love that I can choose to turn the parent unit on vibrate. I like this feature when I am on the phone, or I have a meeting with someone at the house.

Digital Transmission – Thanks to the 2.4 GHz system that transmits audio and video signals so, you only hear your baby’s sounds.

Infrared LED – Yepie, for the awesome Infrared LED which allows you to see your bundle of joy at night without waking them up.  What’s not to love?!

Pan, Tilt, and Zoom – The camera tilts up to 134 degrees up and down, pans up to 270 degrees side to side, and zooms up to 2x.  It’s a great camera, that grows with your child.

Full-Motion Video – You can see your child’s every move, it’s clear, and with up to 25 frames per second.

Temperature – It’s important to be sure your little one is cozy, and thanks to the temperature indicator it’s easy.  It’s easy to find out the temperature in your baby room, because the parent unit lets you know when it’s time to adjust the thermostat.

Range – Don’t worry about range with the Safe & Sound® Pan & Tilt Full Color Video Monitor from V-Tech, because parents will love the 1,000 feet of range it allows.

Wall-mount bracket – It is a great way to have the monitor up and out-of-the-way, but in a place where you can use the pan, tilt, zoom features to see the entire room.

Rechargeable battery – The last thing you want is to purchase new batteries every other day, which is why I love that the V-Tech monitor comes with rechargeable battery with low-battery alert on the parents unit.
