The Teen Beach movie is a fun, silly musical for kids. When I sat down to watch the musical Teen Beach Movie with my kids, I already knew they were excited to watch it. My two younger girls would ask me about it every single day, and finally we had it. I promised them we would watch it as soon as the mailman dropped it off. That’s exactly what we did, too. The mailman came, Vayda ran out and grabbed the movie, and into the DVD player it went. Typically, I don’t turn my kids loose with movies until they are “mom-approved,” so I had to watch them with them. If there had been any part I felt was not appropriate for my kids, I would have turned it off, but we watched the whole movie.
The Teen Beach Movie is filled with comedy, sweet teen romance, song, and dance! Not just any song and dance; it’s fun and upbeat, and I’m guilty of dancing with my girls while having some Teen Beach Movie fun. I’m always dancing around with my kids to Teen Beach movie music. I have to admit, it’s fun and upbeat. I don’t know about other moms, but it makes this mom want to dance, sing, and act silly with my kids. I love that, and I know my kids do as well. Shhh, don’t tell, but you can even catch their dad dancing to it, acting silly. It’s that kind of film—silly and fun.
About Teen Beach Movie
Teen Beach Movies is about high school sweethearts Brady (Ross Lynch) and Mack (Maria Mitchell), who love surfing. Brady is a huge fan of a 1960s film called “Wet Side Story,” which is a musical about bikers and surfers turf battles and little romance.
Sumner is coming to an end, and Mack decides to head for one last surf before leaving behind Brady and attending a private school. While Mack is out on the water, everyone is called in because the waves are becoming too dangerous. Mack doesn’t come back, so Brady jumps on a jet ski to save her. Mack falls from her surfboard, Brady jumps in the water to save her, and both of them are swept away into Brady’s favorite film, “Wet Side Story.”
While in the movie, Brady has fun and is super excited to be part of his favorite film. Mack, on the other hand, is eager to get home and keep her promise to her family about leaving for private school. They try to come up with a plan to get back to the present day, but until they figure something out, they try to blend in, end up caught in the middle of a turf war between bikers and surfers, and disrupt a romantic plot between Tanner (Garrett Clayton) and Lela (Grace Phipps). Rather than Tanner and Lela falling for one another, they fall for Mack and Brady. Before Mack and Brady can get home, they have to figure out a way to redirect Lela’s and Tanner’s affection toward each other, which is a little difficult when trying to sidestep the outbursts of song and dance.
Is Teen Beach a Good Movie For Kids?
Yes, I allow my kids to watch it. My girls all watch this movie all the time, and of course, my little dancer Madisyn is hooked on Teen Beach Movies. I believe the movie sends a positive message to kids watching it. It’s fun from the start, and one cannot help but fall in love with Brady’s fun outgoing, super excited to be in the movie outbursts, and Mack’s comical outbursts.
Without a doubt, Disney has done it yet again with the Teen Beach Movie. It’s cute, fun, and screams summer. All the stars looked as if they had a blast making the movie. From the fun environment and lively and colorful sets, I don’t know how they wouldn’t have had a blast. Oh, not to mention all the fun songs and dances.
I was very pleased with the family-friendly programming and wholesome messages about self-awareness, individuality, friendship, and my personal favorite, positive relationships. I personally think it’s something there could be more of when it comes to movies for our kids.I appreciate what Disney has done and would rather my kids watch Teen Beach Movie than half of the stuff on TV that is supposed to be okay for kids. I feel that Teen Beach is a good movie for kids.
