Have you ever wondered how to make a duck tape folder?  Well stick around and you will find out!

I have always said you can fix just about anything with Duck Tape and bailing wire, lol. Trust story, you can they are magical creations that you can do so much with. However, until recently I had never even thought about making a folder using Duck Tape.

Make Your Own Duck Tape Folder

My daughter wanted a black and red folder made out of Duck Tape so that is what we did and it turned out a pretty cool if you ask me. Heck, I had no idea that people make all sorts of stuff out of Duck Tape. Seriously, wallets, clothing, book covers, and so much more. Do a little research it will blow your mind, super cool and such fun.

Make Your Own Duck Tape Folder

Okay, well let’s get to this fun little project here. Grab your Duck Tape and come on.

You’ll need the follow items:

  • Scissors
  • Duck Tape (your favorite color(s)
  • Ruler

Directions

Duck Tape Folder

Make a sheet 11 ½” x 18 ½” sheet by stacking 18 ½” strips of Duck Tape long ways. I made mine 20”, so I could trim it to size.

2

Carefully peel up the sheet you just made and flip it over so the sticky side is up and repeat step one. Remember sticky side to sticky side.

3

Now you have to make the pouch, I made mine about 5” tall by 19” wide remember to leave enough to trim, it’s better to be too long than too short. Carefully peel the pouch and flip and repeat the process, sticky side to sticky side.

How To Make a Duck Tape Folder

We made this folder about about 5” tall by 19” wide remember to leave enough to trim, it’s better to be too long than too short. Carefully peel the pouch and flip and repeat the process, sticky side to sticky side.

Now you need the folder part. Determine which side you want the pouch on. Cut 2- 5” strips of Duck Tape® and attach the pouch to the folder at each side. Then cut 1 strip of tape 19” long and attach the pouch to the bottom of the folder. All there is left to do is to trim the edges fold in half and crease your folder down the middle.

And BAM, just like that you have an awesome little folder, lol. Pretty darn cool if you ask me.

If you wish to make your folder a little less flimsy you can cut a wire hanger 11 ½” long, placed it in the center and covered it with another piece of tape to keep my folder from bending

Have you ever made anything out of Duck Tape?  If so what have you made, and if not what are some unique things you use Duck Tape for in your home.

PS Huge thanks to my ex-husband for lending a hand for this project.

Huge thanks to our friends at Duck Tape for sponsoring this. All opinions are my own.

This really isn’t anything new. The only thing new about it is the fact that duck tape has so many different colors and prints now that duck is a cool thing to use!!! I used to put the ugly gray duck tape on my folders when duck tape was the ugly gray color. LOL

I love duct tape! I use it for everything. We made my daughter’s desk out of her old crib and used the tape to decorate the edges of the chalkboard finish. My desk is made from two table tops put together and I use the tape to keep them together, even though they are supported by a shelving unit.
We like to make our own greeting cards and we use the tape to decorate it. I use it along with cardstock to scrapbook holiday/birthday pics in frames. We have a ridiculous amount of deco tape, craft tape and the mini tapefitti tapes. We love our tape!

How cool! I’ve heard of people making prom dresses and wallets out of duct tape, but I never thought of folders. Love the colors she chose!
