If you could be a super hero for one day, who would you be?  There are so many – Superman, Spider Man, Thor, Batman, or maybe Batkid, like Miles Scott?  I think I would be Shera.  Do you remember the day Batkid saved Gotham?  It happened in San Fransisco, and Batkid was a little boy named Miles Scott.  If that day touched your heart, you are going to love watching the Batkid Begins Documentary trailer.  WARNING: You’ll probably cry, but they are good tears!

Batkid Begins Documentary: Remember The Day Batkid Saved Gotham

BatkidDo you remember what you were doing on November 15, 2013?  I sure do, it’s hard to believe it’s already been that long, but I was following one of the most touching stories I think I have ever heard before on Twitter and online.  It was the day San Francisco was transformed into Gotham City for one super special little boy – 5 year old Miles Scott, who had fought leukemia (and won).  Miles Scott had one wish – to become Batkid for a day.  His one wish brought together millions of hearts when that wish became a reality.  Thanks to thousands of volunteers who all supported  Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area.

batkid save usYou know this story, still to this day, brings tears to be eyes.  This was the day people from across the world came together, transformed a city, and did what no one would have ever thought was possible.  They gave Miles Scott his wish, and brought together people from all over the word, thanks to the power of social media.  People like me, who would have loved to be there, but couldn’t, were able to support Batkid, and be part of this amazing day.  Miles did get his dream, and there is a documentary to show you.

The best part of this documentary is that all proceeds will go to benefit San Francisco charities.  To make Batkid Begins worthy of its superhero namesake, KTF Films will be teaming up with big-name musicians, visual effects professionals, and animators.  They will all be working at reduced rates in the name of Batkid, and bringing the post-production price tag to $100,000!

we love batkidAs of now the Batkid Begins Indiegogo Campaign is at $59,385 raised of the $100,000 goal.  They need our help, anything you can do will help – even tweeting and sharing on Facebook can help.  They only have until August 19, 2014 to raise the remainder for this amazing non-profit campaign.  I would love to see them make this.  The story of Batkid is more than a day a boy was able to play Batkid.  It’s the day we all came together, people from all over the world came together for something that mattered.  I honestly don’t even know how to put into words how powerful the story of Batkid is.

batkid saves gothomThe story of Batkid is the story of an amazing young man with a wish, people who made it happen, and the day people from all over the world came together to supports a boys wish to become Batkid for one day.  It was the day that nothing else mattered, nobody cared about race, age, size, shape, religion, or anything else.  Everyone was in San Fransisco, online, or tweeting on Twitter doing the same thing – showing support for something that mattered!

batkid miles scottDid you know that the Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area grants more than 300 wishes annually to children who have battled life-threatening illnesses?  Which is amazing, and the story of Batkid shows just how serious they are about these wishes, and the lengths they are willing to go just to see a child get a wish they so desperately deserve.  Hats off to Make-A-Wish Foundations, because what they do leaves me speechless.
