Many women may notice light bladder leakage during their younger years, and then when the dreaded menopause hits they may notice it worsening. My poor mom and mother-n-law are going through menopause, and just talking to them makes me want to cry for the, and pray that something strange happens and I never experience menopause, lol. I know it’s going to happen, but a gal can dream right?
There are several things that can cause LBL in women such as – obesity, smoking, chronic constipation, caffeine intake, exposure to dietary irritants, artificial sweeteners, spicy and acidic foods, alcohol consumption, and more. If women going through menopause deal with LBL it’s often due to the lack of estrogen, as we get older bladder capacity often reduces, and the supports to the bladder and urethra weaken as well. Certain Medical conditions might also be to blame.
Then there are other life events such as pregnancy, hysterectomy, and childbirth that may cause you to have less control as you get older. Right after I had my daughter I know life wasn’t fun. The little sneeze wasn’t welcomed by me. I remember jumping on the trampoline after she was born, man was that ever a bad idea. There is nothing funny about LBL, it’s a rather embarrassing time in a women’s life. Whether its because of your new baby, or you’re suffering from menopause no women wants to deal with LBL.
Regardless of the reason, it’s not fun. After having Mattie I couldn’t sneeze without the dreaded light bladder leakage of some kind, lol. I remember trying to jump on the trampoline with my little nephew. Ha, that was such a bad idea it wasn’t funny.
