How does one find the balance in weight loss, eating healthy, and living alone. It can without a doubt be a difficult task, but not to worry, it’s not one you are facing alone. Finding the balance has been a difficult task for me as well.
These past few years have been hell. As times goes on, I’m sure I’ll share more about where I have been these past few years, experiences, learnings, etc. But for now, I am finally starting to feel like myself again. And finally starting to focus more on myself, my career and moving forward. There are challenges, but hey, that’s life. One step at a time, we figure these things out and push forward, right? Well, until we get things figured out, then it’s all go, right. I guess I am still in the figuring it out stage and ready for the go, but it will come.
With that being said, I am currently living alone; it’s taken some adjusting, and living alone has been challenging. My current struggle is eating healthy. It can be difficult, to say the least. I mean, sure, there are plenty of ways to eat healthy if you live alone. However, for me personally, I want to lose weight while eating something affordable and convenient. I know there is no magic solution to this. Everything takes effort, but what we put into our body has a huge impact on the results we are able to achieve. And we have to be able to stick to whatever weight loss program or healthy eating adventure we decide to go on.
I have been trying the keto diet for a while now, and seriously, no luck. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t have it in me to count macros and all that jazz. I know there are apps and such, but that’s not what I am looking for, plus, eating keto can get a bit costly from my experience. While it might be a great choice for some, it’s just not for me. It has helped me start making healthier choices and get my head on track, but I know there are other options that fit my lifestyle better with where I am at in my life.
Finding Balance: Weight Loss, Eating Healthy and Living Alone
I just want to be straight forward with you: this post does contain affiliate links, and I will receive compensation if you decide to make a purchase using these links, but I have had great results with Nutrisystem in the past, and I can see it helping other’s who are finding themselves in the same situation.
The Nutrisystem program is powered by high-protein and a lower-glycemic approach, which was designed by dietitians to help manage your blood sugar levels and control hunger. Plus, let’s be real: depriving yourself of some of your favorite carbohydrates and desserts gets extremely difficult and can lead to overindulging if you decide to give in for a “cheat” day. Which can make achieving weight loss difficult.
With Nutrisystem, you receive ready-made meals that are perfectly portioned with high-quality ingredients, and they’re super easy to prepare. The ready-made meals contain lean proteins, smart carbs, and healthy fats, and you get to pick out your meals for 28 days.
With the Nutrisystem diet, you’ll eat six times a day: breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and an evening snack. Did I mention you get desserts? You sure do, and they are stinking delicious desserts too!
Okay, let’s talk about the food. Seriously, how good can it be? I mean, it’s prepared diet food, right?!? Well, a lot of their meals are freaking delicious, especially their frozen selection. I’ll list a few of my personal favorites below to give you an idea of what Nutrisystem offers:
- Cinnamon Rolls
- Turkey Sausage and Egg Muffin
- Peanut Butter Oat Bar
- Double Chocolate Muffin
- Hamburger
- Chicken Sandwich
- Double Chocolate Caramel Bar
- Meatball Parmesan Melt
- Italian Sausage and Turkey Pepperoni Pizza
- Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo
- Salisbury Steak and Mac and Cheese
- Mac and Cheese
- Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich
- Fudge Bar
- Cheese Puffs
There is tons more to choose from; those are just a few that I have tried in the past and really enjoyed.
Nutrisystem NuMi App
When you sign up for Nutrisystem, you’ll have access to the NuMi app, which is your portal to track your progress, and the app can help you personalize your plan based on different health variables such as age, activity, weight, and height.
Nutrisystem for the long haul can help teach you healthy habits, one being portion control, which is important in keeping the weight off. You’ll also have access to easy-to-follow recipes and a variety of Nutrisystem Success transition and maintenance plans to help you on your journey.
With where I am in my life right now, I think Nutrisystem would be the perfect solution for me. It could help me eat healthier and lose weight while keeping things affordable and simple. So if you find yourself struggling to eat healthier and looking for something affordable that’s super confident, you might consider giving Nutrisystem a try.
Nutrisystem also offers a variety of plans based on your age and lifestyle. However, I know Nutrisystem isn’t for everyone. If it’s not for you, that’s totally okay. Here are a few other options you may want to consider.
Meal prepping
If you love to plan and cook, this might be right up your alley. You can plan out your entire week of meals, toss them in the freezer and be good for the week.
Making healthy yet coinvent choices at the store
This one can be difficult, but Walmart has these ready made salads that are seriously delish. The farmhouse salad is amazing, by far my favorite. There are options; you just have to look and find what works for your lifestyle. Frozen and healthy foods can be a good choice too.
Keto
My experience with the keto diet hasn’t been great. It’s not helped my weight loss journey but it has helped me focus on eating healthier while living alone. So it’s been positive in that since and I’ll be honest, I have not stuck to counting macros and all of that jazz but it might work great for you.
Delivery options
There are also options available, such as Hello Fresh. It’s been years ago but I enjoyed the program, the food was good and the recipes where unique.
I am just sharing things I have learned through my life. I am not a doctor or dietitian, just a girl who has and is learning stuff through life and sharing my personal options or learnings. If these tips don’t sound like they will work for you, don’t give up; there is some great information available at your fingertips, ask friends, read articles and books. Keep doing your research until you find what works for you.
How do you currently find the balance between weight loss, eating healthy, and living alone?
