I wrote this review while participating in an Influencer campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. and received a promotional item from Mom Central to thank me for participating.
My oldest daughter has worn contact lenses for a while now, and she’s finely has learned how to properly handle and wear contact lenses. Okay, so it does require a lot of reminding, and help from me, but hey that’s what moms are for. I try to relate, because she’s still young and remembering to change your contacts every two weeks can be difficult for a teen who can’t keep track of her phone to set a reminder lol.
We also recently found out her younger sister needed glasses, and she is already asking about contacts, which scares me because she is my totally irresponsible one. It’s extremely important to properly handle and wear contact lenses, especially in her case because the doctor said her eyes can likely be corrected.
Popular Contact Lenses
There are contact lenses to help correct certain eye conditions, like farsightedness, presbyopia, astigmatism, and nearsightedness. There are several different types of contact lenses available and some of the most popular are:
- Daily Disposable Contact Lenses
- Frequent Replacement Contact Lenses
- Cosmetic Contact Lenses
Tips To Help Properly Handle and Wear Contact Lenses
If you are or child need to wear contact lenses it’s essential you learn how to handle them properly, and practice good hygiene when handling your contact lenses. If you have any questions at all please, DO ask your eye care professional. They should be able to answer any questions you have, or find you the correct answer.
- Since it’s important to handle your contact lenses correctly here are a few tips for properly handling your contact lenses.
- Wash hands with mild soap rinse completely and dry with lint-free towel before touching your contact lenses. Stay away form any soaps that may contain lotion, cream, or an oily cosmetic. There could be a residue leave on your hands, and you’re risking getting it in your eye.
- Remove your contact lenses immediately following any eye discomfort, vision changes, excessive tearing, or any redness. If you notice, any other chances or issues remove them immediately and call your Eye Care Professional.
- Before putting your contact lenses in your eye, inspect it. Be sure it’s moise, clean, free of any tears or nicks, and clear. Don’t use the lens if you see it’s damaged, or the blister packing is opened, or damaged for that matter. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
- When using contact lens solutions and lens cases always use fresh lens care products and lenses before the expiration dates. Yes, they do have expiration dates and Never reuse solution. It’s made to be changed as recommended by the manufacturer, even if the contact lenses are not used daily it’s important to follow their recommendations.
- Disinfect, remove and clean your contact lenses as prescribed by your Eye Care Professional.
- Be sure to only use recommended solutions by your Eye Care Professional, and follow the directions, which are included in the package inserts.

Catie is currently usingACUVUE OASYS for ASTIGMATISM with HYDRACLEAR PLUS.
Catie likes the ACUVUE® OASYS® Contact Lens because they are comfortable, smooth, and don’t feel dry. Oh, and she can wear them for two weeks before replacing them. The ACUVUE® OASYS® Contact Lens feel smooth because of the Hydraclear Plus technology, which make the contacts ultra-smooth so when she blinks it’s almost like she isn’t wearing contacts. They provide 98% of available oxygen to the open eye, which she says helps her eye feel like it can breathe. If she is happy with her contacts, I’m happy.
ACUMINDER is awesome, and it’s made my job easier, and helped me put a little responsibility in her lap. Now she gets a text message, and I get the email when it’s time to do just about anything with her contacts. It works out perfectly, she can start learning how to take care of this on her own, and hopefully I only have to check in with her. Plus, it’s great for reminding me about eye exams, and grabbing replacement contacts for her.
