I made this pretzel crust caramel brownies recipe because I was looking for a way to spice up a traditional box of brownie mix, and they were pretty darn good. I mean, if you want to make your brownies from scratch, go for it. I’m just too lazy most of the time lol, and in reality, boxed brownie mix is pretty darn yummy.

For this pretzel crust caramel brownie recipe, I used this caramel in the Crockpot recipe. Which is really just a fancy way of saying you toss condensed milk in the crockpot for a few hours, and BAM, you have amazing caramel that works great for these brownies, but in reality, you can use any caramel you choose. I’m sure they will turn out amazing either way.

Pretzel Crust Caramel Brownies
You’ll need the following ingredients:
- 3 cups pretzels
- 4 Melted butter
- A box of brownie mix
- 2 Eggs (be sure to check the back of the brownie box)
- Vegetable oil
- 1/2 – 3/4 Cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup melted caramel or more; I added more lol. You can use any kind of caramel you want. Here is the crockpot caramel recipe I used.
Directions
Toss the pretzels in a blender or smash them up until they are crushed as fine as you can get them.

Put crushed pretzels in a bowl, add butter, and mix until they are coated.

Dump pretzels into a brownie pan and evenly press into the bottom of the pan. (You can use parchment paper or foil to cover the bottom of your pan. I highly suggest parchment paper over foil if you decide to go that route.
Mix the brownie mix per the box instructions.
Add chocolate chips
Pour brownie mix on top of the crust and spread out evenly

Drizzle the melted caramel over the top of the brownies in a zigzag motion. I added a lot of caramel. Add a little or a lot; it’s up to you and your taste buds.
Using a butter knife, swirl the caramel into the brownie mix.
Back according to the brownie mix directions or until done.
Remove from oven, allow to cool, and enjoy.

I hope you enjoy the pretzel-crusted caramel brownies recipe. We sure did enjoy them.
Needless to say, I have plans for my next boxed brownie mix; if it turns out good, I’ll be sure to share the recipe with you. I hope you enjoy these pretzel-crusted caramel brownies. We sure did.
