Pretzel Crust Caramel Brownies

Looking for a way to spice up that brownie mix? These pretzel crust caramel brownies are a great way to go.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups pretzels
  • 4 Melted butter
  • A box of brownie mix
  • 2 Eggs be sure to check the back of the brownie box
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 – 3/4 Cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup melted caramel or more; I added more lol. You can use any kind of caramel you want. Here is the crockpot caramel recipe I used.

Instructions
 

  • Toss the pretzels in a blender or smash them up until they are crushed as fine as you can get them.
  • Put crushed pretzels in a bowl, add butter, and mix until they are coated.
  • Dump pretzels into a brownie pan and evenly press into the bottom of the pan. (You can use parchment paper or foil to cover the bottom of your pan. I highly suggest parchment paper over foil if you decide to go that route.
  • Mix the brownie mix per the box instructions.
  • Add chocolate chips
  • Pour brownie mix on top of the crust and spread out evenly
  • Drizzle the melted caramel over the top of the brownies in a zigzag motion. I added a lot of caramel. Add a little or a lot; it’s up to you and your taste buds.
  • Using a butter knife, swirl the caramel into the brownie mix.
  • Back according to the brownie mix directions or until done.
  • Remove from oven, allow to cool, and enjoy.
