MYTHS ABOUT SILK BEDDING DEBUNKEDMYTHS ABOUT SILK BEDDING Debug

There is absolutely no doubt that silk and other organic bedding materials have a number of benefits over regular bedding types. However, because competition is cutthroat, there are a number of myths that can also be counted as marketing gimmicks to decrease the sale of these comforters. Some of these are mentioned as follows:

  1. Silk Is Slippery: A number of retailers who sell regular bedding would say that silk is very slippery and hence not comfortable to sleep on. This is so not true. Silk bedding is manufactured keeping in mind that it should be comfortable to sleep on. While silk is extremely soft, it is absolutely non-slip.
  2. Washing and drying silk is tough—another myth! Silk is one of the simplest to wash. You don’t need to get it dry-cleaned every time. The precaution that you have to take is that you must always wash silk sheets in cool water.
  3. The Price is Too High: Well, this notion about silk sheets that they are extremely expensive must be debunked now. The sheets are absolutely perfectly priced. The quality of these bed sheets and comforters is a lot better than that of regular bedding; therefore, they are pricier than regular bedding.
  4. Every Silk Bedding is the Same: This is also just another myth, and only those who know very little or absolutely nothing about silk and silk comforters would believe it. There are a number of types of silk comforters on the market. You do not need to worry about the variety, as you will find a lot of it in terms of color, style, size, and price.
  5. They Are Not Organic: Just because silkworms are an important part of silk production, people label them as non-organic. This is not right. There are absolutely no chemicals used in the production of silk; therefore, it is incorrect to label them non-organic. The only thing that makes it non-organic is bleaching it.
  6. They are a recent Recent Trend: Silk sheets are in no way’recent’. They have existed for ages; however, commercially, they are gaining ground only in recent times. The properties of silk have been used for ages in fabrics and other things. Therefore, silk comforters are only an innovation and not an invention.

These are some of the things about silk that have been misunderstood by greedy retailers trying to belittle the value of organic bedding. The idea behind eco-friendly materials and methods is to raise environmental awareness and see the green value of things.
