Justin Lin’s LAST DAYS in Theaters October 24th, 2025
I recently had the opportunity to watch Justin Lin’s Last Days, it’s a great film based on a true story about John Allen Chau who is a 26 year old American Christian missionary. After being on a bit of a spiritual journey myself, I very much felt this movie. And it certainly had me learning more of John Allen Chau. I give it two thumbs up👍👍.
I fell in love with the main character of the film, John Allen Chau and his father, played by Ken Leung definitely pulled on my heart strings as well.
John and his father have a bit of a complicated relationship, but the love runs deep. See John’s father wants him to follow in his footsteps and become a doctor. However, it’s just not that simple for John, he tries to follow his fathers path but eventually comes to the realization that’s it is just not his journey. And, his father, understandably so has a difficult time understanding his son’s path.
Last Days takes you on a journey following 26 year old John Allen Chau as he embarks on a dangerous adventure across the globe to share his faith with an isolated tribal of North Sentinel Island.
An Indian detective, Meera from Andaman Islands, played by Radhika Apte is trying to find John so she can stop him from visiting the island. With a goal of trying to stop John from visiting the island so nothing happens to him and protecting the Sentinelese people. Meera stumbles upon John’s journal which takes you though a bit of John’s life as a missionary and his plan to complete the “ultimate mission”.
I don’t want to give away too much of the movie. It is based on a true story so many may be familiar with the story while others may not. I personally was not familiar with it so I don’t want to spoil the ending for those who are not. So to find out how far is to far you’ll need to watch the movie and decide for yourself. I felt all sorts of emotions, did a bit of reflecting and I fell for some of the characters. And, just a little FYI you might want to grab a tissue or two because it’s defiantly a tear jerker.
All in all, I thought this was an awesome movie, give it two thumbs up and certainly hope you’ll head to the theaters on the 24th to watch it.
You can catch Last Days in theaters on October 24, 2025. It’s rated PG -13 directed by Justin Lin starring Sky Yang, Radhika Apte and Ken Leung.

I feel the reason I really would love to watch this movie is that it has me wondering what goes on in the movie. It does have me curious and the scenes look so theatrical and mysterious that it seems such like a good movie that my family would enjoy to watch.
Movie looks good, definitely a watcher.
I’m interested in it because I’d like to learn more about the isolated tribe.
I like that this is based on a true story.
