If you are searching for a easy and super cool idea for Halloween we think you will love these floating glow in the dark eyes! Totally fun, super easy and the kids will love them.
Just a few more days and Halloween will be here! Are you like me and running behind? Sometimes I wonder where the hours in the day goes and then I look at the calendar and am stumped as to where all the darn days went too. We love to decorate for Halloween in our home, but with school, work, and daily life, it gets difficult to put the decorations up. It’s time and energy consuming to dig through the decorations to find the right ones to put up. Well, I have a quick and easy Easy DIY Floating Tree Eyes for Halloween that will spookify your front yard, porch, windows, or anywhere you want to put them.
While crafts and DIY projects can often call for a lot of supplies that you have to get from the Dalhi Lama, or so it seems, it’s nice when one comes along that can be done easily. These Glowing Tree Eyes are one Halloween craft that you can put together quickly, easily, and with little moolah. Enough chatter, let’s get down to it shall we? Or as my niece so kindly reminds me, “Aunt Rema, are we EVER going to make ghosts?????”
Easy DIY Halloween Floating Glow In The Dark Eyes
To make these glow in the dark eyes you’ll need the following:
- Paper rolls (from empty tissue paper rolls)
- Scissors
- Tape or Glue
- Black Craft Paint or Black Permanent Marker (Really any color will work)
- Glow Sticks
Now, I told you it wouldn’t take much! One tip I can give you is to cut the holders in an egg carton to hold your paint if you choose to us craft paint.
Directions:
1.) Depending on the size you want your paper rolls, you may cut a roll in half.
2.) Paint the outside of the tubes completely and allow time to dry (or color with a marker).
3.) Slightly crease the paper tubes in the middle.
4.) You can draw on the eyes and cut the lines OR just wing it and cut ’em out free style!
5.) Using a (painted) spare tube, cut open, lay flat, trace the side openings of the tube with eyes and cut them out.
6.) Grab your glow stick, bend it, shake it, and place inside the paper tube.
7.) Using the cut-out circles, tape or glue over the openings to keep the glow stick inside.
8.) Place them in the branches of your trees, on the porch, or my favorite, in your window!
It’s seems like a lot of steps, but once you get rolling it doesn’t take long. When I sat down and had painted my tubes and allowed them to dry (10 minutes), it only took me a total of 10 minutes, start to finish. If you want to secure the tubes in the tree branches just use some twine or fishing line to tie those eyes secure.
Halloween is a super fun holiday and there are so many opportunities to be creative. I love to do crafts and projects with my nieces and nephews and the Glowing Tree Eyes craft is no different. It’s easy to find the supplies and it takes minimal effort, skill, and time to complete.
Do you have any easy DIY Halloween crafts that you use as a go-to in the last few moments before Halloween? Be sure to comment and share because, as always, we LOVE to hear what you all have to say! Happy Halloween Everyone!!!
