If you are looking for a great grab-and-go breakfast or snack, this Ancient Grains Granola & Peanut Butter Energy Balls Recipe with Chia Seed is where it’s at.

I have to get creative in the mornings, not only for myself but also for my husband. If we don’t have something quick, easy, and healthy like the Ancient Grains Granola & Peanut Butter Energy Balls Recipe with Chia Seed to start our day, we end up going without and eating too much at lunch. Which only makes the day drag on because we’re not feeling our best.

This post is brought to you by our lovely friends at Vocalpoint and Kellogg’s Origins™. All opinions expressed; the Ancient Grains Granola & Peanut Butter Energy Balls Recipe with Chia Seed, and photographs are my own.

I have started living a healthier lifestyle, and I’m dropping some much-needed pounds, so a healthy, energizing breakfast is essential. We both love being able to grab an energy ball or two for breakfast and snacks throughout the day. I make all sorts of different energy balls. I’ve shared a few energy ball recipes in the past, but I’ve never made them using granola.

Kellogg’s Origins™ Ancient Grains Granola

My husband and I recently tried Kellogg’s Origins™ Ancient Grains Granola for the first time; it’s awesome. After grabbing a small handful for a snack, my husband asked me if I would make him some energy balls for work using the granola, and I’m glad I did because these are by far my favorite no-bake energy balls EVER! Kellogg’s Origins™ Ancient Grains Granola is AMAZING!

Kellogg’s Origins™ Ancient Grains Granola is a deliciously crunchy blend of real fruit, rye, barley, spelt, wheat, and toasted oats. It’s simple, wholesome food; whether you enjoy it alone or to make energy balls, it helps bring simplicity back to the breakfast table without all the yucky stuff! Can you see why my husband wanted me to make energy bites with the granola? Let’s just say my husband is much smarter than he lets on to be around the house, lol.

You can grab Kellogg’s Origins™ Granola in several different varieties, such as Coconut with Raisins & Almonds Muesli, Cranberry Almond with Pumpkin Seeds Granola, and Raisin Apple Granola. When you use the granola to make your energy balls, feel free to choose your favorite. They all taste amazing!

The energy bites would taste great with only the peanut butter, honey, and granola. However, cranberries mix well with all the ingredients, and I enjoy biting into a chocolate chip from time to time. I don’t like to put o a lot, but it is a nice treat. I don’t think I have ever made energy balls without flaxseed and chia seeds; it’s a great recipe to sneak in some of the good stuff. The coconut is totally up to you. Since nobody but I likes them in my house, I typically fill the measuring cup with coconut and set it to the side. After I’m done making all the balls, I’ll get a few and roll them in coconut for myself.

You’ll need the following:

  • 1 Cup of your favorite Kellogg’s Origins™ Ancient Grains Granola
  • ½ all-natural creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup pure honey
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries (optional)
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1/8 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 tablespoons flaxseed (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds (optional)

Let’s start making the No-Bake Granola & Peanut Butter Energy Balls Recipe with Chia Seeds:

TIP: I didn’t use the blender for this batch of energy balls, but normally I do because it’s super easy. So please feel free to use your blender, but if you do, skip the first two steps in the directions.

1.) Blender Method – Simply toss all the ingredients into a blender; it makes things SUPER easy. I didn’t use the blender this time, but I will throw all the ingredients into the blender and blend completely. If you choose not to use the blender, skip step 2.

1.) Old-fashioned method – In a large mixing bowl, combine Kellogg’s Origins™ granola of your choice and peanut butter. Stir as much as you can and add honey and mix completely.

2.) Add any remaining ingredients and mix completely. If needed, you can add extra peanut butter or honey; you can do so, but only add a little at a time.

3.) Roll the mixture into desired-sized balls. Place finished energy balls into a baggie or Tupperware container and place in a refrigerator to store.

4.) Enjoy your fabulous granola and peanut butter energy balls!

You don’t have to chill them before eating or at all, but I like them better chilled, and they tend to stay together better when the peanut butter and honey are chilled.
