Do you use a holiday cleaning checklist when you start your holiday cleaning? I didn’t until I started reading up on Merry Maids Seasons Cleaning Tips! They truly have some great cleaning tips to help not only make cleaning easier for the holiday’s season, but you can apply them to your everyday lifestyle too. The wonderful people at Merry Maids know what they’re talking about when it comes to cleaning! Thanks to Merry Maids tips and my new cleaning checklist I can have my holiday cleaning done in seven days and only worry about cleaning a room or two a day!
Merry Maids tips and the holiday cleaning checklist has been a huge stress reliever for me because our house is larger than it was a few months ago. We added on a huge den, two bedrooms, extended the kitchen and added a dining area. I don’t know how I managed without a checklist and Merry Maids tips, combined they have simplified my cleaning life.
I finally decided to create a cleaning checklist to be sure I get everything done, and have some sort of schedule for each day. I tend to work better when I know exactly what I have going for the day. If I don’t, I end up in the situation I’m in now – nothing is done. Gosh, let me show you around my house. It’s a mess, so be ready.. Also, try to remember we’re working on getting our wood floors in, and my husband is supposed to have my kitchen finished this coming up weekend.
When you think about it cleaning doesn’t take too long if you do a room or two a day. The kids rooms will probably take the longest, but I’m planning on having them clean them first. My oldest can handle her own room, but the other kids are too young and don’t clean the way mom does. I’ll have them help, but mom will help with the cleaning process, and it also makes things easier for them.
6 Reasons To Use A Cleaning Checklist for Your Holiday Cleaning
I pick my sister up this week, and she’s going to be staying with us for a while! I’m so excited, and I just know she is going totally dig the cleaning list thing. She’s always tried to get me to start using lists for things like cleaning, but I never thought I needed it, until now that is.
The holiday cleaning checklist has helped me stay on track, and better schedule my day. I’m honestly kicking myself for thinking I didn’t need this sooner, lol. I even remember to do everything, no more forgetting to vacuüm under the couch and your mother-in-law calling you out on it.
After using the Holiday Cleaning Checklist, I don’t think I will stop using it. Here are a few reasons to give a holiday cleaning checklist a try.
Stay on a Schedule
I work from home, and whether you’re a stay-at-home parent or full-time working parent the checklist has made my life easier because I can stick to my schedule. If needed, I can skip a day with the cleaning, but when making my work schedule, I can also account for the fact that an hour of my time will be dedicated to holiday cleaning. Having the cleaning checklist makes staying on a schedule easier, and jumping back on one easy too.
Easy to Stay Organized & Get Everything Done
I am no the most organized person in the world, but the checklist has helped me get organized with my daily tasks. Rather than trying to dedicate a whole day to cleaning, I can spread it out.
Cleaning is Easier
It’s easier for me to do a room or two each day than it is to dedicate a whole day to cleaning. Besides, who wants to clean all day? I prefer splitting it up, dang Merry Maids thanks for all the great tips.
Cleaning is Faster
Having the checklist speeds things up. It helps me stay focused on the things I need to get done and not messing with things that are not important.
Easy to Get The Family Involved
Oh, yes don’t think my kids will not be helping, lol. It’s nice because they can complete their task and check it off. It’s a great way to get the family involved without having kids walk around like they don’t know what they are supposed to be doing. I think mine do it on purpose lol.
Keep up with the house
Having a cleaning checklist inspires me to want to keep up with my house all the time. It not only makes cleaning easier, and faster, but it’s sort of enjoyable when it’s split up into rooms and days. I don’t dread cleaning anymore because I know it’s only an hour out of my time, and it’s a beautiful break from work.
Cleaning Tips: Holiday Cleaning Checklist
When I start my holiday cleaning, I like to begin in my bedroom and a guest bedroom because they typically stay cleaner longer than any other place in the house. My husband and I are so much better than the kids at picking up after ourselves. Plus, it’s nice to get all the shelves cleaned up and organized.
It’s not too bad, but there are several things that shouldn’t be on the shelves, and they look so much nicer all cleaned off, and of course dusted.
I wanted to move all the vitamins and things on the left-hand side, but they’re my sisters and she will be back in a week. I’ll wait until she comes back and officially moves into the guest bedroom. Other than that it looks so much better.
Of course, we have the night stands too! They always tend to end up with all sorts of odds and ends stacked up. There is stuff on the floor, my dogs bed that belongs in an entirely different room. Don’t ask me how it ended up in my room, I have four kids, I don’t even ask anymore.
I’m going to be, honest about the holiday cleaning checklist and tell you that it’s AWESOME! The list has helped me to stay on track, and get everything done when I have it scheduled. My favorite part is that I can use it more than for the holidays and keep it as a monthly cleaning checklist, combined with daily cleaning it will be great.
With the cleaning checklist, I was able to get the guest room done in about 15 minutes, because it’s not lived in it typically stays clean.
