I love Duck Tape!  Seriously, you can do so many things with it, and now that you can get Duck Tape in all sorts of fun prints.  Vayda loves using it to decorate things in her locker, folders, and notebooks for school.  Since they wear uniforms, it’s a fun way for her to let her personality shine through without breaking dress code, lol.

I have a bad habit of saving things I might use one day, as my old candle jars.  Vayda has been bugging me to use them for something all summer, and I finally figured out what we are going to use them for: Vayda’s locker.  She’s been bugging me to take her to pick out some Duck Tape so she can decorate her match folder and make something to keep her pens and pencils organized in her locker.  I put it off until right before school because if I had taken her two months ago when she wanted to go, we would be making another one because she would have lost it, given it away, or using it for something else.

There are more than 250 prints and colors of Duck Tape to help you make each and every project unique.  Plus, you only need Duck Tape, no glue, staples and things like that, so kids of all ages can put their decorating skills to the test.  There are even some new prints: Selfie Cat, Gumboil, Tribal, Ikat Tie Dye, Daisy, Arabesque, and Baroque.

So this is what I started out with—a used candle jar and the Duck Tape I purchased.

So we agree on upcycling candle jars to pencil & pen holders for Vayda’s locker.  However, we couldn’t stop there; she has to have the matching notebook and pens, you know.  Oh, and Mattie, well, she’s still a little too young to go crazy on her locker, but she also picked out some Duck Tape so she could do something with it, lol.

Okay, so here is what we came up with for her locker.  She wanted to use the sparkly pink Duck Tape with the super cute owl print.  Not something I would go with, but it fits her for sure.

You can make a pencil holder using Duck Tape out of so many different things.  Last year my daughter made one of out an old can, and it turned out pretty darn cool.  This year

I’ve found that the easiest way to wrap the writing utensils is to cut the Duck Tape the length of the pen or pencil.

Lay the pen or pencil down on the sticky side of the tape and slowly roll the pen/ pencil, keeping the tape even. Then you’ll just wrap the pen or pencil with the Duck Tape.

And, that’s it!  It’s seriously so stinking easy to decorate things with Duck Tape; now I’m looking around in my office for something that needs a little color.

Everything else is super easy; just cover it in your favorite Duck Tape and have fun with it.  Vayda wanted to do her notebooks and pencil holder with pink sparkling Duck Tape and the super cute owl print.  She really wanted the Tye-Dye Duck Tape but it seems to be pretty popular and of course everyone beat us to it this year but it ended up working out okay because Vayda was able to find prints she liked and Mattie had to have the darn mustache Duck Tape, lol.  Oh yes, Duck Tape has SO MANY different colors and prints; there is something for everyone.

There is so much fun to be had with Duck Tape!  I know Vayda is super excited about decorating her locker with duck tape this year.  She’s talking about decorating all sorts of things, mostly in her locker, but the list is getting longer.  Vayda is one of those girls who is going to end up making herself a Duck Tape prom dress.  Yes, she is super creative and artsy, and she would honestly rock a Duck Tape prom dress better than anyone I know. The possibilities are endless with duck tape.
