Travel Alaska: 10 Reasons To Visit Alaska

From the amazing wildlife to their love for fishing, Alaska seems to be one of the most beautiful places in the world.   There are so many reasons to travel Alaska, I could go on, and here are a few of my favorite reasons to visit Alaska.

Wilderness: Did you know that the state of Alaska is twice the size of Texas?  Most of Alaska is wilderness, which is rare in the United States anymore.  In my opinion, it’s more the reason to visit!

Reasons to Visit Alaska

While Animals: From whales and bald eagles to moose and bears, Alaska is your place to experience these amazing while animals.  FYI, be careful.

Unplug: Forget about everything back home and enjoy your time in Alaska.   When I visit Alaska again with my husband, I don’t see me wanting to plugin, unless it’s for a selfie.  There is too much to experience and too much fresh air to breathe in.

Beat the crowds – I’m sorry, I can do big crowds, but when it comes to visiting a place like Alaska I want to stay away from the huge crowds at amusement parks and things of that nature.  I want small crowds, nature, fresh air, and to unplug so I can spend quality time with my family and forget about all the stress back home.

Mountains—Oh WOW, the mountains!  If the wilderness and wild animals are not enough to make you want to travel Alaska, try the mountains.  Even if it’s just for the view of the mountains flying in, WOW!

Glaciers – Even seeing a glacier from the plane makes me happy, lol. It's just so amazing.

Glaciers: Even seeing a glacier from the plane makes me happy, lol.  It’s just so amazing.

Memories that will last a lifetime You and your family, friends, or whoever is lucky enough to travel with you will have memories AND PHOTOS to last them a lifetime.  Whether it’s the fishing, food, whales, or tons of other amazing sights you’ll have the opportunity to see, they are something that will travel with you forever.  Be sure and do as much as you can, and take pictures the entire time you visit Alaska.

Photography: This one I had to add because you cannot visit beautiful Alaska without taking pictures.  You’ll have an amazing photography opportunity of the great Alaskan wildlife, as well as the breathtaking dramatic coastlines of Alaska’s Inside Passage.  Come home and make your friends jealous, lol.  The next time we travel Alaska, I plan on focusing on wildlife—humpback whales, eagles soaring freely, king salmon, islands, or even a large halibut. While you visit Alaska, DON’T FORGET YOUR CAMERA – put it on the top of your list

No shopping: Some of you might want to shop while you are visiting, but I look forward to getting away from all that.  I want to do nothing but spend time experiencing what I cannot see at home, and that is the great state of Alaska.  I would love to stay someplace like Waterfall Resort or Steamboat Bay Fishing Club because they offer so much, and I am all about the all-inclusive resorts.

Fishing: Okay, the country girl comes out, and there is NO WAY my husband or I could visit Alaska and not fish.  I have heard about both the Waterfall Resort and Steamboat Bay Fishing Club; my husband actually stayed at the Waterfall Resort with his brother a few years back, and they had a blast.  Now, it’s my turn.  I like the all-inclusive idea, plus the fact that everything is right there, and someone is there to help you if needed.

I’m going to be honest; my husband would probably go for the fishing, and I would go for the experience.  I honestly cannot think of one thing I wouldn’t like to see or do in Alaska.
