Today I Am Smiling Because My Kids Are Happy and Healthy!

Once we venture down the road of parenthood, everything changes, in my opinion, for the better.  When my kids are happy and healthy, it puts a smile on my face. I love the fact that my priorities have changed.  Suddenly, nothing matters more than my kids. I used to smile because I had money in the bank or a cute boy looked my way.  Now I smile because I know my baby has everything she needs, she is happy, and most importantly, she is healthy.  I love being a mom, and there is nothing I look forward to more than seeing a smile on my kids faces.

Today I Am Smiling Because My Kids Are Happy and Healthy!

Being a parent can be scary, especially when your little one is sick.  I’ll never forget one night when my daughter woke up so sick that it scared me.  She sat up in bed and looked as if she were delusional from her fever.  I was so scared that I laid awake next to her all night, checking her temperature, trying to help her be comfortable, and most importantly, letting her know that mommy was right next to her.

I cannot tell you the relief I felt when she rolled over that next morning and smiled at me.  You know that smile that lets you know they are feeling better?  It was like the clouds had lifted and the sun was finally shining.

Today I Am Smiling Because My Kids Are Happy and Healthy!

Today, I am smiling because my kids are happy and healthy!  When my kids are smiling, I know they are happy and feeling good.  Not only that, but their little smiles are contagious!

What does it mean to you, as a mom, to see your child smile after they have been sick? (You know, that “feel better” smile that means your kids are ready to run around and be their bubbly self again.)

TYLENOL® SMILING IT FORWARDTM

Do you have some sweet smiles running around in your house?  If you are over the age of 18 and have sweet smiles in your house, you can help a child who is in need.  From now until January 31, 2013, you can help by joining the TYLENOL® SMILING IT FORWARDTM campaign.  The makers of TYLENOL® are inviting you to share a photograph that makes you smile on SmilingItForward.com.  Each picture that is uploaded, approved, and shared will trigger a $1.00 donation from TYLENOL® to the wonderful Children’s Health Fund.  It’s easy, fun, and helps a child in need!

If you are not familiar with the Children’s Health Fund, it’s an amazing organization that helps give less fortunate children the opportunity to see the doctor and get things they need.  If you would like to learn more about the Children’s Health Fund, you can do so by visiting their website.

I just uploaded a picture of my youngest daughter.  She manages to keep me grinning from ear to ear for 98% of the year.  The other 2% are sick days, and those times when she has me wanting to pull my hair out, lol.

How You Can Help The TYLENOL® Smiling It Forward™ Campaign

Helping is simple, and I am really excited you want to be part of this wonderful program!

  • Head on over to SmilingItForward.com and upload a picture that makes you smile.  Remember, every picture that is uploaded, approved, and shared is a $1 donation.
  • Edit your picture using fun frames, stickers, and so much more.  You can skip past this part if you like.
  • Tweet about it, but remember to use the #smilingitforward hashtag

This is a great and noble idea, but I do wish more money was spent effectively to get kids good whole-food plant-based nutrition which could PREVENT so much illness.

My second daughter was born sick. I’ll never forget the week long hospital stays when I never left her side, not even to go home and bathes. When my kids got sick I would be a wreck but, yea, seeing them get up smiling again was always like the sun shining again. And my daughter is a happy healthy 25 year old.

It’s the best feeling in the world when you get that “feel Better” smile after your child is sick. That’s the moment you feel a sense of relief and know that everything is going to be okay.

It’s great that Tylenol donates to the Children’s Health Fund! You’re an awesome parent, Jenn! I wish more parents would put their kids health and happiness first! In my neighborhood, I see some great good parents, and unfortunately, I see some really bad parenting, too! It saddens me when I see kids not being cared for!
