Dill Tuna Lettuce Wrap: High Protein Lunch I Ate on Repeat to Lose 70lbs

Published: Updated: 0 comments

This Dill Tuna Lettuce Wrap was the meal I ate on repeat to drop 70 pounds. It’s delicious, high-protein, under 500 calories, and a quick and easy lunch that is super affordable. You seriously can’t go wrong.

I started my health journey almost a year ago, and it actually happened by accident! Well, sort of. I stopped smoking, started feeling amazing, and began taking my health more seriously. It wasn’t an overnight change, but once I found a rhythm and learned about the power of a calorie deficit and high protein, this became my ‘on repeat’ lunch. Here we are almost a year later—still smoke-free, 70 pounds lighter, and feeling great.

These wraps became my go-to for a few reasons: I could eat enough to actually feel full, and they helped me stay in a calorie deficit while hitting my protein goals. Plus, they’re healthy and take minutes to throw together. Oh, and did I mention they taste GREAT and that it is super affordable? They truly do, and I am so excited to share this recipe with you!

Why These Dill Tuna Lettuce Wraps Work

Delish

The combination of tangy dill, crunchy greens, and savory tuna checks all the boxes. It doesn’t taste like “diet food”—it tastes fresh deliciousness with just the right amount of tang.

Affordable

Tuna isn’t just delish; it’s an affordable lean protein too. To help keep the calories low, I decided to opt for the lettuce leaves rather than bread or wraps. It’s a huge win in my book; not only does it keep those calories low, but it also adds to the fresh aspect of it.

High Protein & Low Calorie

Believe it or not this recipe comes in at just over 400 calories and over 30 grams of protein. This is an estimate and based on the brands I used, but here is the breakdown of everything with the brands I used:

  • StarKist Chunk Light Tuna (1 can) 90 kcal 20g protein
  • 1 Whole Large Egg 80 kcal 6g protein
  • 1 Egg White (Second egg) 20 kcal 4g protein
  • Light Mayo (2 tbsp) 70 kcal
  • Dijon Mustard & Dill Relish 15 kcal
  • Veggies (Onion, Tomato, Lettuce) 40 kcal
  • 1/2 Avocado 100 kcal

High Volume (Eat Until You’re Full)

I honestly do not think I could have stuck to my diet without this cheat code. You’ll be surprised how much this makes; the fact that it is under 500 calories with 30 grams of protein is a huge win. It satisfies that physical hunger without blowing your calorie budget for the day. This was a huge win for me.

Easy Peasy To Make

You can seriously toss this together in about 15 minutes or even make it ahead of time and toss it in the fridge.
