Beauty Secrets Every Girl Should Know

I love girl talk!  It’s not often I get to talk about beauty secrets with the gals!  I have mixed feelings about Catie getting older; there are things I like, but I still wish she was my little girl.  I don’t want her to ever get big and move out, lol.  I know, wishing isn’t going to stop it, but she is fun to chat with about beauty secrets!

Now that Catie is getting older, I love talking to her about beauty secrets.  Not only does she learn from me, but I also learn from her.  I’m going to be honest, I was a bit closed-minded to it all until she asked me if she could shape my eyebrows, and DANG!  She did an awesome job; it was actually better than when I get them professionally done.  Catie is blessed with the artistic talents that I lack, lol.  It makes me jealous because she’s so creative and does great at anything she puts her mind to.  I cannot put into words how proud I am to be her mom.  She’s truly an amazing person, smart, and she has the most amazing hair I think I have ever seen on another human being. She’s a kind-hearted, beautiful person from the inside out.  I hope she sees in her half of what I see in her, because she will go far, and that’s what we want for our kids.

As parents, we want to give our kids the tools they need to be and do whatever it is that they want.  and has so much going for her, and of course I share my beauty secrets with her, and she tells me about all the new trends that are happening at school.

Catie and I were talking about a few beauty tips the other day.

  • Perfume lasts longer if you apply moisturizer first
  • A spoon in the freezer can help cure puffy eyes.  Hold it over eyes, relax, and enjoy.
  • Milk Powder and water helps can remove makeup.
  • Vaseline works for just about everything.  It also does a great job removing waterproof makeup.
  • Use a moisturizer to cure the flyway’s.  You only need a bit on your hands.
  • Keep a fabric softener sheet in your handbag, if you’re hair gets static you can run it over your hair.  It not only gets rid of static, but smells great.   It’s also great for getting smells out of your hair.
  • Water, Water, Water!  Need I say more?  I’m sure you have heard how important water is, and it’s important to help you look healthy, and feel good.
  • Remember, less is more when it comes to makeup.  You can look beautiful, with only a little makeup.  Besides, you want your friends to recognize you when you don’t wear it.  I had this friend growing up, when her boyfriend saw her without makeup he didn’t recognize her.  I know right, she wore more makeup in a day than I put on in a year.  Don’t do it, lol.
  • Be yourself; it’s okay to not wear makeup daily.  It’s okay to take a break, relax, and enjoy life.  Just don’t stop taking care of yourself.
  • If you’re looking for great hair products, NEXXUS® has been amazing.  It’s helped Catie keep her color in longer than any other product, or tip we have tried.

This time of year is when our hair starts feeling ragged and run down because of the dry winds, styling, and daily struggles our hair is put through.  What are your beauty secrets that every girl should know?
