The Official Big Red Soda Cake Recipe was shared with us years ago on Jenns Blah Blah Blog straight from our friends at Big Red. It’s been a much loved recipes for years so we certainly brought it over in the rebrand, it’s simple, unique and we hope you love it.

The Official Big Red Soda Cake Recipe (Straight from Big Red!)
The most time-consuming part is baking the cake. Just grab your favorite cake mix, make it, and bake according to the directions, with a few changes, of course.
This is the Official Big Red Soda Cake recipe is a nostalgic, Texas-style favorite that combines the unique cream-soda-meets-citrus flavor of Big Red Soda with a light, fluffy strawberry gelatin soak. Topped with a cool whipped pudding frosting, this “poke cake” is incredibly easy to make and always a hit at potlucks and family gatherings.

The Official Big Red Soda Cake Recipe (Straight from Big Red!)
Ingredients
- 1 can of Big Red® soda pop
- 1 box of strawberry gelatin dessert
- 1 box instant vanilla pudding
- 1 tub of whipped topping
Instructions
- Bake cake according to directions on box
- While cake is baking, mix your can of Big Red® soda pop with the box of strawberry gelatin until completely dissolved
- Once cake is finished baking use a butter knife and poke holes all over the cake.
- Pour strawberry gelatin and Big Red® soda mixture over the cake and allow to cool
- While your cake is cooling, make the pudding and mix together with the whipped topping.
- Once cake is fully cooled spread the cool whip and pudding mixture on the top
- Enjoy
