7 Tips To Help Avoid Underarm Irritation

Ladies, I’m sure most of you would agree—the skin under our arms is delicate and deserves special care and attention.  Daily shaving often results in redness, irritating bumps, itchiness, and/or those red and dark marks that are a result of shaving irritation.

Clothing: Wear clothing that is not tight around the armpit area.  When your clothing rubs on your armpit, it can cause uncomfortable irritation.  Look for clothing that allows your armpits to get some fresh air—something breathable.

Washing Clothing: Before tossing your clothing into the washer next time, be sure to try non-irritating detergent.

Break: Take a little break from shaving your armpit, just long enough to see if shaving is causing irritation.

Shaving: When shaving your underarms, try to remember how delicate the skin is.  If you often shave the first thing in the morning, consider waiting 10 – 20 minutes.  Your skin is a lot like yours; give it a chance to wake up as well.

Soak: Before shaving, even if you use the best shaving cream ever, give your skin time to soak for a few minutes.  You will get a smoother shave.

Razor: Spend a little money and purchase a quality razor.  Cheap razors can often cause irritation, or worse, cuts and nicks.
