Keeping five children entertained while we wait for our food at a restaurant like Denny’s is next to impossible. I have even printed out our own coloring pages, and played games to help keep kids entertained when eating out. You might have already heard, but if not I am a Denny’s Brand Ambassador. I cannot tell you how excited we are to start new adventure with Denny’s, tips to keep kids entertained when dining out, and share some information about Denn’s menus, including their new Adventure Kids Menu!
Tips For Keep Kids Entertained When Eating Out
If you want to eat out with the kids, but have issues keeping them entertained you might try a few of these tips.
Time
Choose a time when the kids are awake. If you head out right before nap time or bedtime you are risking a very sleepy child, which can be bad news. I have found first thing in the morning to be Mattie & Jessica’s best time to go and eat out. They are in better moods, and it’s more pleasent for everyone in the restaurant.
Talk to them
Before you leave the house, and while you are driving to a restaurants be sure to talk to them, and let them know your expectations.
Reward
You don’t have to bribe them, or tell them for that matter. If they are good surprise them for a job well done, and reinforce to keep up the good work.
Lighten Up
I had to learn to lighten up, and remember kids are kids. They get bored easily, and need something to keep them occupied. Some restaurants have those placements kids can color on, and my kids love those, but got board with them quickly, so I started bringing our own coloring pages and markers.
Denny’s New Kids Menu with a Side of Adventure Please!
If a new fun menu can keep my children happy, busy, and from disrupting the enter restaurant I am going to bet it’s because whatever they are doing is fun and engaging. Denny’s put a lot of thought into their new menu. There are plenty of great all-day food options! Parents, I think you will be excited to know that the Kids LiveWell has verified several of the items on the menu! The menu was created by the National Restaurant Association, which means parents can feel better knowing their children can choose from healthier alternatives that are balanced and delicious! Not to mention, the real menu itself is AWESOME!
Parents and children will find a nice selection of customizable dishes and National Geographic Kids content. We have not been to Denny’s since the launch of their new menu, but we did receive one with our Brand Ambassador Welcome Kit. My kids love it, they grabbed the menu and the bell, and started playing Denny’s Diner right away. Since then they have transformed my kitchen into a Denny’s Diner for their games. It’s funny because Vayda is very serious about being a good waitress to Mattie. Our little Mattie always starts out good, but slowly you see her get sucked into the new kids menu. The other day they were playing, and Mattie just got up and ran into the livingroom to show Catie something on the menu. My parents will be in town and I am excited to if the kids get less board waiting for their food with the Geographic Kids menu.
The National Geographic Kids Adventure Menu is a lot of fun, and the kids have had a blast playing Denny’s Diner games, as well as reading, looking at the food, and begging mom to please take them to Denny’ so they can explore the yummy all-day options that will give them the fuel they need to finish their adventure.
What is on the The National Geographic Kids Adventure Menu?

I was surprised how engaging the kids found the new Adventure Menu, but after looking at it there is plenty of great info. My favorite part about the everything is that it helps spark a good conversation between me nad the kids. With Denny’s we have more control on what our children are putting into their mouths, and so can adults thanks to their Fit Fare menu.
