10 Gift Ideas for Kids Who Play Video Games

With the holidays creeping up on us, it’s time to start writing down all those gift ideas for kids, the husband, parents, and everyone else on your Christmas list.  Bud and Caite used to be the only kids who played video games in the house, but here recently Vayda has started to really enjoy time on the 3DS, and Mattie will not be far behind her.  I don’t have problems with my kids playing video games during allowed time, and it’s even better when they learn while playing.  There are so many great gift ideas for kids out there it’s almost too much, and makes things difficult.  Since Vayda has suddenly shown an interested in video games I wanted to get her something special, just for her!  I’m thinking a Nintendo 3DS and the Petz Countryside game.  She already has Petz Beaches and loves it!

Did you know that Nintendo 3DS has sold more than 23 million units worldwide?  WOW, the Nintendo 3DS, is back, more fun, and even more interactive than before.  Do you have a Nintendo 3DS?  We have one, but I just purchased another one for Vayda for Christmas.  She likes to play games, but has never been too big on the Nintendo 3DS, but Petz has changed that.

  • Console – I’m going to assume if your child enjoys playing games they already have a gaming console.  If they don’t, it’s an awesome gift idea, and I’m sure they will love it.
  • Nintendo 3DS – Considering there has been more than 23 million sold worldwide, it’s no surprise my kids love the Nintendo 3DS!  I didn’t play with the last DS much, but the new one is AWESOME!  Catie tells me there is a vast difference in the two, but she likes that the 3DS is more interactive.  I’m purchasing a 2nd one for my daughter Vayda because she recently fell in love with playing Petz Beach on the 3DS, and four children sharing one device is hard.
  • Chair – Every gamer needs an awesome gaming chair.  My son and oldest daughter have “The Game Chair” in their room!  It’s funny, but I used to have a chair I sat in to play when I was little, and it’s the only place I would sit.  When my kids started playing, I bought them chairs, lol.  Nothing fancy, just some affordable bean bag chairs, but they love them.  Besides I don’t want them to comfy because they’re not playing all day, lol.
  • Controller – I’m going to bet your kids would like an extra controller. It’s something you can’t have enough of, LOL.
  • Messenger Bag – My oldest daughter will take her Xbox One to her friend’s house every now and again.  I gave her a messenger bag a while back so she could keep everything together, and it’s worked great.  No dropping wires or controllers along the way.  Put everything in the bag, zip it up, and BAM!
  • Headset – Depending upon how old, and how dangerous of a gamer your child is, a headset might be an excellent option.  My kids have gaming get togethers with friends from school.  They all set up an amount of time they’re going to meet up and play using headsets.  Catie doesn’t meet up with everyone online often, but when she wants to it’s there for her at least.
  • Accessories – There are all sorts of great gaming accessories out there, it just depends upon what gaming console your children are playing.
  • Gaming gear – Be sure to be on the lookout for great shirts, socks, posters, or anything else you know your child will enjoy.  You never know you might just end up finding their favorite lucky gaming shirt.
  • Games – There are so many games out there, but you know which games your kids enjoy, and if you’re not sure, go look.  Games are one of the easiest things to pick out, and I always know the kids are going to love it, like Petz.

Catie has played Petz every chance she gets and is always arguing with her older sister over who gets to play.  We’re an animal loving family, and have played all sorts of animals games, but none of them have been as popular with everyone as Petz!

Do your kids have any video games they can’t live without or want for the holidays?
