Preheat oven to 350. Grease one nine inch round pans.
In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla, mix for 2 minutes. Stir in the boiling water last.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
Spread caramel buttercream on the cake and top with a Rolo or five. It’s all up to you how many Rolo’s you place on your cake.
Caramel Butter Cream Frosting
Cream shortening and butter with mixer. Add caramel and vanilla.
Stir in sugar, one cup at a time. Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.
