Cupid’s Crack: A Sweet & Salty Valentine’s Day Treat

Ingredients
  

  • 40 saltine crackers about
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup salted butter 2 sticks
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • M&M's Measure with your heart
  • Sprinkles Measure with your heart
  • Red Candy Melts optional but festive

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350.
  • Line a 9×13 baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick spray.
  • Spread a layer of crackers on the cookie sheet.

  • In a saucepan, melt butter and add brown sugar.
  • Bring to a rolling boil for 3 minutes; if using a candy thermometer, about 280 degrees Fahrenheit. You'll want to do this on a medium-high heat and stir continuously.
  • Pour the mixture over the crackers and bake for 5 minutes.

  • Remove from oven and allow to cool for about 3-5 minutes before sprinkling chocolate chips on top. Allow chocolate chips to melt and spread out the chocolate evenly with a spatula.
  • Add candy melts if you would like for added color and sprinkles and M&M’s.
  • Allow everything to set up and cool and harden.
