The iPad is such a great device for children if , there are some great kids apps out there. My children look forward to their daily “techie time.” Which 99% of the time they play educational apps, and they of course have their favorite educational app, but now and then I allow them to just have fun and do nothing but play a dress up game. I always look forward to reviewing a new kids app with my kids, like Laura’s Journey to the Stars.
The majority of the kids apps I have reviewed are great kids apps that the kids still play with. They are apps that I might not have found otherwise, and it’s always fun exploring a new kids app with my children. When I told Vayda we had to review an awesome new interactive storybook called Laura’s Journey to the Stars she was excited as I was. She’s my artists, who loves to read.
Laura’s Journey to the Stars did not disappoint, the story is loads of fun and takes kids on an amazing astronomical adventure with a little boy named Tommy and his sister Laura. Laura and Tommy build a rocket so they can travel through space together. When they get through space they run into something extremely special – the dog stars! Oh, and now I know where all the lost socks go! Yes, you have to get the app to find out lol.
Laura and Tommy allow you to follow along as they race and play among the stars. It’s a great story, all four of my kids have listened to Laura’s Journey to the Stars at least once. Honestly I think my teen daughter has read it the most. She liked it so much her and two of her friends made a fort in my living room, and listened to it lol. Crazy, kids got to love them.
Laura’s Journey to the Stars is translated by an Australian author, and recommended for ages 4 and up. You can listen to the book with native speaker in German, Mandarin Chinese, and English, which can be a great way to expose your children to different languages.
It’s hard not to love the interactive features of the app. Kids can experience Laura’s journey in a whole new way. They have dive into the story with her, play Paris with socks, and even Whac-An-Alien. There are more than 80 animated scenes, funny sound effects, as well as exciting interactive options for children to experience. The illustrator Klaus Baumgart did an outstanding job with the amazing drawn illustrations.
It’s a great story, and worth downloading for only $2.99. My kids have already gone on an adventure to the stars with Laura and Tommy enough to say we got our $2.99 out of the app and then some. You can download the app via
