This post is about traveling, Airport Layovers, and 5 Things To Do During A Layover. Super huge thanks to Big Fish for sponsoring this post, and providing my husband and I with something to do while we are stuck at the waiting at the airport.
Shawn and I will be heading to Florida here in less than a week for a Disney Cruise, don’t worry post is coming soon. We are going to have a bit of a layover, and I have looked for things to do during a layover at the airport. Since we will not have enough time to really go anywhere, it’s best we stay put, and find a few things to keep us busy during our airport layover.
Airport Layovers: 5 Things To Do During A Layover!
Flights with layovers are often less expensive than direct flights, but if you are like me you will pay extra money to not have to sit and wait in the airport more than you already have to. The thought of sitting in the airport longer than needed stresses me out, but sadly there are times when layovers cannot be avoided, or they are just long enough to be annoying. Rather than get all worked up about it, I have come up with a few things to do during a layover.
I refuse to ruin my nice vacation with our small layover. Rather than watching the clock go buy here are a few things I am gong to try to do to make me most out of our layover.
Walk
There is plenty of room to walk around, and stretch your legs. besides if your carry-on luggage is as heavy as mine lugging it around for a few laps will be one heck of a workout.
Sleep
Now, I don’t know that I will sleep, but I know I can just set the alarm on my trusty Nokia Lumia Icon, and catch a little extra sleep before we get there.
Eat
There are plenty of places to eat in airports, and I 99% sure that will be one of the first things my husband will want to accomplish during our layover.
Window Shop
I am not going to purchase anything in the airport, unless I REALLY need it. Sorry, but it already cost a fortune to eat, but I will window shop. They have some neat things to look at.
Games
As always I will have my trusty iPad, and my husband will have his iPhone. Without a doubt we will be playing games on our iPad, and iPhone. Rather than waiting to download games when I get there I have started looking for games to download now.
Two games I recently downloaded are by Big Fish Games – Midnight Castle and Fairway Solitaire, both available in the iTunes store. Big Fish guarantees that their games are virus free with no ads, no adware and no spyware. You know exactly what you are getting (or not getting!).
Midnight Castle
This game is fun, especially if you are already a fan of hidden object games. In Midnight Castle you can go on a fun, but mysterious quest to explore hidden object scenes. The app has outstanding visuals that make the enchanting tales and thrilling secrets that much more engaging. The game is perfect for anyone who loves a mysterious challenge, or just awesome graphics.
Players will enjoy more than the outstanding new visuals, but you will have the chance to meet new characters in every scene. From meeting trolls, menacing dragons, to meeting beautiful royalty the quest will lead you on an unforgettable dark passages and illuminated paths. You can use items you find on the castle grounds to craft potions and poisons, and you are able to craft as many as you can and are rewarded.
The cool part is that you can sign in with Facebook, share gifts wish lists, and even help your friends get items they need to move on. The more friends you have the more gifts you will have to open up.
Without a doubt, Midnight Castle will provide you, your family, friends, or anyone else with hours of entertainment.
Fairway Solitaire
I am not even going to deny, Solitaire is one of my favorite games whether I am hanging out at home, or on a layover at the airport. Fairway Solitaire is an award-winning combination of solitaire and golf. It’s actually the #1 solitaire game in the app store for over TWO YEARS!
You can play hundreds of handcrafted gold holes and mini games with golf announcer, ticked off gopher, and hazard cards. Winner of a 2012 People’s Choice Award for Best Mobile Board Game!
Whether you are going to be stuck in the airport, with nothing to do, or you just want a few games to play at home. Head over to iTunes and learn more about, or download Fairway Solitaire and Midnight Castle.
