16 Things To Make Dad Feel Special On Father’s Day #RealDadMoments http://jennsblahblahblog.com

This is the man of our home, the dad we want to feel speical on Father’s Day!  Everyone, meet the amazing father to my children, and the best husband a girl could ask for, Shawn!  Father’s Day is a special day; it is a day for you to show dad how special he is, what he means, and how much you love and appreciate him. It reminds me how lucky I am to have my wonderful husband in my life, and father to my children. I want to be sure my husband knows how much he means to us, and how much we appreciate him, but in all honesty that cannot be done in one day. He goes all year, doing everything that needs done, and all the extras. So this year, with a little inspiration from Dove Men+Care I decided I wanted to be sure my husband knows how much we love and appreciate him more than once a year. This year for Father’s Day, we are doing something special for Father’s Day! If you are looking for something to make dad feel special here are a few ideas to get you brain storming.

Remember you don’t have to have a lot of money to make dad feel special, because that isn’t why he does everything he does. Dad does everything he does, because he loves you, and that is you need to show him how special he is on Father’s Day.

Breakfast in bed

Sure, dads love breakfast in bed, especially when you make them FUN FOODS! Make something special, and it’s okay to have fun.  You can make dad Mickey Mouse pancakes, or an egg racecar with sausage wheels.  Have fun, and think about your father and what he likes.

You don’t have to buy anything fancy

Sure, dad loves gifts, but I am going to bet he would rather have something that came from the heart. Here is a fun idea. Use a piece of wood, foam, cork board, drywall, or anything you can find that can easily be hunt up after you are finished, and paint it or buy some cool duct tape and cover it so it has a nice pattern. Now, decorate it with pictures, and maybe little notes telling dad what you remember most about him over the last year.

Go on a picnic

Take dad on a picnic, even if it’s just in the backyard. Set everything up, make something yummy for lunch, and have fun.

Father’s Day coupon book just for dad, and mom don’t forget yours.

All the kids can make dad a coupon book with coupons for different things – backrub, clean up the yard, 1 hour TV without cartoons, lol. Mom, you can make one too, and dad will love it!

Who loves to go camping?

If dad is into camping, and you are able to go do it! Camping is always fun, but remember you have to do what dad wants.

Take dad fishing if he likes to fish.

Does dad enjoy fishing, but not get to go as much as he likes because of work and all the other things going on? Take him fishing, let him choose the spot, and you pack the lunch.

Make dads favorite treat

If dad likes cookies, brownies, or cake make him some for Father’s Day.

You are never too old for ice cream.

It’s summer, and I am going to bet dad would love to head down to the ice cream shop.

Take a walk

Go on an evening walk, just because, and talk.

Why not show dad how much he means with song and dance?

My kids love to sing and dance. Do yours? Why not have them write a song, just for dad, and come up with an awesome routine. With a hand from mom, they will be rocking in the living room before they know it, and dad will be grinning cheek.

16 Things To Make Dad Feel Special On Father’s Day http://jennsblahblahblog.comTalk to dad about him, and when he was a child.

Today ask dad about him, whatever you want to ask, but try to get dad to start talking about him, his childhood, or anything else. That used to be one of my favorite things to listen to as a child, I love hearing my dad’s stories.

Car wash

While dad is not paying attention, wash his car. You might need to have someone help keep dad distracted for a bit.

16 Things To Make Dad Feel Special On Father’s Day http://jennsblahblahblog.comMake dad feel special by showing him how much you love him

You know you husband, and father.  Do things to let them know you love them, and appreciate everything they do for you.

Make it dads day, all day!

Today is dad’s day, ask him in advance, what he wants to do, and plan a fun day. Whatever dad wants to do, because today is his day, and do not let him tell you he does not care. Make him give you some ideas, and you create a special day with dad.

Backyard BBQ, just the way dad likes them

If your family is like our, we love to BBQ, and normally invite the same people over. Have a Father’s Day BBQ! Oh, mom if you are planning to run the grill and have not used it, be sure to practice, lol. Last year I used the new grill, and almost burned the steak. It was my husband’s new grill, I wasn’t used to it,and almost burned everything, lol.

16 Things To Make Dad Feel Special On Father’s Day http://jennsblahblahblog.comMom, this one is all you!  It’s important you set some time aside for dad too.

Be sure to do something special for dad too! Father’s Day is about saying thank you, I love and appreciate you, so be sure to take little time away for yourself.

Dove Men+Care Research

Dove Men+Care is committed to portraying how real men care! Dove Men+Care new research reveals a disconnect between how the media represents fathers’ roles, and how fathers see themselves. Which, personally I agree with that already!

Did you know three-quarters of dads say they are responsible for their child’s emotional well-being, yet only 20% of dads see this role reflected by the media? Yes and only 13% of dads believe the media portrays fathers as responsible for childcare, and 3 out of 5 fathers say the media portrays them negatively, which is 61%! What are you thinking so far? Personally, I agree with the majority of the fathers. I think the media has a lot of work to do if they plan to portray the life of a real father.

Did you know, nearly all the dads (97%) say they are involved in their children’s life, 7 in 10 see themselves as highly involved, and an overwhelming majority of dads coming in at 94% prioritize their families over careers. Again, I agree! Now, I know there are fathers out there who don’t, but there are mothers who do the same. In my opinion, the role of dad is just as important as mom and I wish the someone would understand dads’ role, as a caregiver.

Dove Men+Care “Calls for Dad” Film!

Thankfully, Dove Men+Care understands, and knows dads role as caregiver can often go unnoticed and they wanted to share the real, authentic moments by featuring real dads with their kids in the film “Calls for Dad.” If you have not seen it yet, be sure to watch it! It really makes you stop and take notice of all the things dads do, that often goes without being noticed.  The film made me tear up a bit, becasue it really made me realize everything my husband does for our family that went unnoticed.  I never want my husband to feel like I do not appreciate him, and everything he does for this family.

Dove Men+Care celebrate men who understand more care is better!

We are a Dove family, us girls use Dove and my husband loves Dove Men+Care, and they have everything he needs to give more care for his skin too.

  • Dove Men+Care Body Wash is clinically proven to fight dry skin better than regular men’s body wash, formulated with ultra-light MICROMOISTURE technology, unique gel technology, that activates on skin during lather to help guard against discomfort.
  • Dove Men+Care (Skin Care Build It) is one of my husband’s favorites. It’s clinically proven to fight dry skin better than ordinary bar soap, uses Dove signature ¼ moisturizing cream to boost the skin’s natural moisture barrier, which works to help replenish moisture in the skin’s outer surface layer.

If you are not already familiar with Dove Men+Care, be sure to check out their full-line of grooming products, which are specifically designed to care for men’s skin, face, hair, and underarms.

If you did not already, be sure to give “Calls for Dad” film Two Thumbs Up, and leave Dove Men+Care a comment! You can also share your family’s #RealDadMoments with @DoveMenCare on Twitter and Instagram, and find “Like” Dove Men+Care on Facebook.
